moths in the balcony

In the evening, when light of the daytime was lingering in the sky, I found several dead moths lying on the floor of the balcony, which were pale and dry like scraps of paper. One by one, I swept them away. Gray dust clustered with them, unable to make them a decent grave, leaving them exposed to the yellowish white afterglow. I thought about last night, when bright light of our room cast through the glass on the door to the balcony, which attracted moths. I saw they knocking on the glass with their heads, the shapes of their wings blurry with flipping rapidly. One of my roomates is always afraid of bugs. She asked me to draw the curtains closed to cove the door. I knew nothing about what happened to the moths later. Somehow several of them died. There is a cliche that moths fly to fire and finally get burned, which seems too tragic and reckless. I have never seen such thing. What I saw was just some negligible creatures struggled for light but eventually failed, and then quietly fell to the floor with their bodies remaining complete, maybe fortunately up to a point.
