5 years and now nothing. Please help!! :(
Well its been an ongoing thing really for a few weeks. We was looking at getting a mortgage and it was all good, we had our principal through and he seems to have been happy then.. He found out he might get made redundant from work and he kind of just switched on me, started saying he didn't know if he wanted to be with me and stuff..
Then he calmed down...
then he got a job update again and said the same.
So we kind of broke up on the phone.
He ignored me for two weeks so I went round there, he didn't look like himself. He said he was really happy but he wouldn't look at me without getting upset and wouldn't go near me… He will be away for work a lot as the result of the redundancy was that someone went so his travel for work would increase even more… tried and tried and he just didn't want to know… He just kept saying he had no feelings for me and couldn't say he loved me back anymore but was hoping to snap out of it … felt like he jus couldn't be bothered and he was just starring out the window - was very odd behaviour…. I said before I left I wish I never met him - which I regreted.
I emailed him on the Monday (13th) saying I didn't mean it and I would leave him alone now. He hasn't reached out at all… i am trying to give him space you see.
That was over a week and a half ago now. Still nothing.
Any thoughts?
I guess it could have been silently building up over time, he could have some issues that maybe he doesn't want to talk about because like idk you know how society perpetuates the whole idea that men are not supposed to have emotion or show any weakness. Idk if that's the case but it could be possible. Maybe he is just taking time to figure it all out and deal with the stresses of life and stuff. But I could be wrong.
It might also simply be possible that he's given up. Maybe he doesn't want to settle down. Some guys simply aren't like that. I could be wrong there too though.
I guess if you still care about him just let him know that you're still there and are willing to listen and if there's anything that he'd like to talk about that you won't think of him as weak or whatever for doing so.
@Phthalo Hello, thanks fro your reply.
Well we get on well etc, and he kept changing his mood over the house thing, he is a little bit of a plodder.
I think he is scared of commentment to be honest, which i said to him and he said "maybe". Always goes on about better being alone and stuff like that. I don't think we have changed etc, i think he just never seemed motivated to move out as his comfortable with his mother looking after him so doesn't see the point. There isn't anything i can do as I realise he needs to grow up on his own.
I am interested to see if he reaches out or not but i'm not holding my breath....
