Are you recently divorced, about to get divorced or considering divorce?
Do you want to talk to us about your experience, how you are coping and feeling right now? If we can share and discuss together, we can support each other on this journey.
Break-ups are hard, can be heartbreaking for many, and take some time to recover from. Especially when you have family with children, it is even more terrifying.
Even if you are in the situation that you are, what caused that relationship break down? Would you have done anything differently to avoid getting a divorce? Would you give your relationship/marriage a second chance? What impact does it have on you on a daily basis?
You are all strong, lovely and amazing people!! <3

Without going into detail, I had a breakup from the fact of a misunderstanding. This is why communication in any relationship is important.
What part of communication plays in your part of a relationship?
@Asherwolfice
Asher, Thank you for sharing about your experience. I can see how this made you feel.
Misunderstandings come from different reasons but they all matter and need to be resolved one way or another, and most of the time they can be. You are right to say that effective communication is essenstial to health of any relationship, and appearantly healthy communication means different things for differnet people. Was there really ongoing terrible misunderstanding in your previous relationship that had to end where it did?
I am here to support, listen and offer validation & compassion to others. Dont share too much about me on here really :-)
Since you asked, I'd probably say exact same thing you went through. That is communication struggle as well between me and my husband. It is difficult but we have to do our best to overcome this and focus on positives instead. It helps a lot to break those barriers.
@KatLis123I want to leave but i have nowhere to. 15y of trying to comunicate but instead getting the harsh insults evrytime when i mention there is something that bugs me.
@Love4Flower
Im sorry thats what you are going through in your relationship. You feel insulted and that must really hurt. You think best way to end the pain and suffering is to end the relationship. have you tried to work it out and didnt help at all?
@KatLis123
Thank you for replying. I have tried from day one to start a normal conversation, and we do talk about everything but when i mention any of my emotions i get a storm of insults and hurtful stuff that i never understood where are they coming from or how did i deserve those. Over time so many bad feelings has gathered up that they now flooded entire relationship. I do not feel safe, not protected not cared for... I feel im not desired and a source of all the bad in his life is me. I no longer see myself out of this. I feel stacked and covered with great pile of hate.

Married for almost 12 years, but the fact is, things haven't been good for about 4 years now; haven't had sex in over 2 years and there is a lack of emotional connection/intimacy. I am extremely unhappy; find myself cold and distant. I get irritated at almost anything he says/does and then I snap with a snotty tone. I am not an angry person, don't like conflict at all and hate knowing that I'm causing anyone pain/hurt. But I can't do this anymore. How do I put my happiness as a priority and tell him I'm done. Feel like I'll be the bad guy and feel guilty because he isn't a bad person; I care about him and respect him but can't live like this anymore. We both deserve to be happy and our son deserves a loving environment; we don't fight, just live like roommates, very empty but civil. I don't think I have ever been the one to end a relationship (not even as a teen).... not sure I am strong enough but know I can't live like this anymore. Moving out/getting divorced is all I think about DAILY.
@FindingMy2point0
I am sad to hear about the experience you had in your marriage. I understand that it's very difficult time for you. I hope you're feeling bit better soon and come back with some positive news. But please do take as much time as you need, and remember I'm here if you need someone to talk to. You're not alone. Take good care love. X
Hello, I’m 29 and divorced. I was with my husband 8 years total and 2 years of the 8 we were married. We were also civil roommates. Drifting from day to day neither of us intimate or passionate. The romance long dead. I made the most difficult choice so far in my life and I left him. He was my best friend, I still love him. But the love isn’t romantic and I was unfulfilled. I still have days when I wonder if I made the right choice. I now live alone during corona and I’m sad often. I started dating again (it’s been a year since we separated) and honestly I’m still numb. I still wait for my sun to rise again... I miss him so much. I get confused if I miss him as a partner or I miss the comfort of having someone. I knew that things were bad when I started looking at sex like a chore. I hated sex at the end of it. I want passion and deep emotional connection in my next love... I think everyone deserves it. Still trying to find out if I’ll ever find it. Because of course I used to think my ex husband was my soulmate.... was he? Or will I still find someone?
Hello, I am 27 years old. I’ve been married for six years been together for 15 years almost we were kids when we just got together so after I had the baby, I found out that he was on dating apps talking to people, but I never really verify that he actually cheated on me so I was upset. I also got on the dating app and made this stupid mistake of meeting somebody and my husband found out, and I guess he got his revenge and had an affair with multiple people. He says it was only one person, but I keep finding chat rooms messages addresses saved in his phone with men and women. I keep bringing it up to him and he says well in the beginning, you cheated first , he states that it was years ago but I just finding out about it now and these women are more beautiful than I am. He says he loves me very much. I’m the most important person in his life, but he will not admit to the others that I found only to the one where It was actually in his phone where I had proof that he went to her house. He says my anxiety is making me go making these things in my head that I’m doing this to myself and the outcome he thinks it’s my decision whether or not if I want to stay together or leave him I do love him very much we have children. He’s my best friend but I’m so hurt to the point where I’m just so tired of finding out these things. I’m just numb I’m thinking I’m just filing for divorce mentally and physically I am exhausted and I don’t think I can continue on like this, I need some kind of support my process of getting divorced
I have really no family. My mom is really absent. Father died a few years ago. My brothers and sisters are very distant with me. I don’t have much friends I don’t go out. I honestly feel like I am alone. My husband is really the only person I have.
