Breakup & Divorce Community - How do you actually feel today?
many years, I thought it was both our faults that it was not working but today i see that YOU make things happen even though they are not perfect and that the obstacles seems so huge. Things are looking up for me everyday and I read affirmations that are positive and make me think that life could be quite worse and that i am grateful to be alive and smiling.
Today.. I feel exhausted. I feel tired of fighting the fact that he will never come back to me. But all I really want is him back. I would do anything to have him back. But I could give him the world and he wouldn't come back to me. I know this, yet somehow, I can't change my feelings for him. Another day.. same feelings. I wish I could be happy for him and let him go.
you'll get through it i promise ![]()
You can be as 'logical' as you like and try and be happy for him, but feelings aren't logical. It's good that you are acknowledging your feelings at least. But just remember, loving someone who doesn't or can't love you back is a waste of energy (I know you know this, and I know you'd stop if you could). But what about channelling that love into a cause that means something to you, especially as Christmas approaches? There are so many people and animals suffering and in poverty, and this is a hard time of year to be poor and alone. Animals will accept your love unconditionally, and humans will be grateful for your time and energy, if you are able to do some volunteering. It would also get you out of the house and making some friends. If you don't feel able to do this, that's fine too. I hope one day soon, you'll wake up and it'll hurt a bit less, and then the healing can start. *HUGS*
I totally understand. I left my wife and she is moving along. She will never want me back and hasn't even said she misses me. I'm stuck and wish I could just be happy at how well she is doing, and do well for myself. We said we wanted to stay friends and I wish that we were both doing well and sharing with each other what is making us happy. But I'm not happy. I need to let go. I hope time helps us both, Angelface12.
today is better than usual. i'm accepting the fact that we are over and that i have to move on with my life. We just werent meant to be. You can't keep being down on yourself for something you have no control over. You have to get through it and move on. It's for the best.
That sounds very positive, Jass. It's when we start to have good days between the bad ones that we know that we're healing. Even if we have bad days, we know that we CAN have good days too. I hope you have even more good days to come. *HUGS*
I am having down day today....how am u supposed go on without him?
I'm sorry you are having a down day. I understand and they are never fun.. a few things that I do when having a down day is I try not to beat myself up for how I feel. Allow yourself to feel but try not to dwell. It also helps me to remember that I got along just fine without him before I met him.. that thought might help. Just be careful not to beat yourself up.
@angelface...Thanks so much for posting a reply to me, it helps more than u know. I am trying to get over him. It is so tough sometimes especially when I see other couples holding hands when I go somewhere. This is the toughest thing I have gone thru, and trust me I have gone thru other tough things in my life. I feel he took half of my heart with him. I don't want to be sad anymore.
I hope you are doing better. I know it is so hard. My ex and I tried getting back together but Christmas day was hard and it seemed to end that night. So painful. We were so toxic with him and his ex-baby-mama-drama and me with my trust issues. (yes, terrible trust issues so I keep picking men who are liars)Just spiraled into a horrid, painful mess. So why do we miss these men who are not good for us? Yes it seems everyone else has somebody. Big sigh.
Not easy, I know, Aqua. Perhaps think about activities that you enjoyed before you met him, perhaps activities that you put to one side during your relationship. Most relationships requiresacrifices; time with friends, family, hobbies etc. Maybe now is the time to rediscover some hobbies and make arrangements to meet up with friends you haven't seen for a while. *HUGS*
@Vermillion303, Thank also for taking the time reply to me, it touches me when i see people I don't even know care enough to give me advice. I am going to try do more hobbies, I try to go out with friends and keep myself busy but sometimes I am not successful at getting rid of thoughts about him. I get sad thinking I won't be able to talk him anymore or he won't be a part of life anymore. Thanks for the hug.
I'm feeling a bit sad today. It's not my relationship that's breaking up, but a couple I'm close to, who I'm trying to support. I'm trying to not take sides, and support both parties, but one party is angry at me for giving *any* support to the other party. She left her husband, and he's devastated and having panic attacks, but she's angry with me for caring about him. He's done nothing wrong; he's not been violent, he hasn't cheated, his only 'crime' is to say that he doesn't think they should have kids until they have cleared some debts. Why am I a bad person for supporting him?
If she wants to lose friends over this break-up, she's going the right way about it.
Hi....do you speak filipino?
I lost th love of my life due to my jealousy. I've never had jealousy issues In the past and had no control over the feelings that came over me. I wasn't mean or accusing, I just let her know that I was having these feelings hoping to get through it with her help, and she freaked. Then became angry and left me. This was a month ago and I can't stop wishing she would come back.
I broke up with him last night... it was the right thing to do. He loves me, and I've realized that I love him a lot more than I was aware. But he lover heroin more... an addiction that tore away at my soul. I decided that we both needed time, to work on our issues. I have my own, and he needs to recover. It hurts so bad... I hope I made the right decision .
My heart goes out to you. Addiction is a hard thing to understand and to be in a relationship with an addict is very difficult. While you love him, you must take care of yourself as well. If breaking up with him is what needed to be done for you own safety, peace of mind, or happiness than you have done the best thing.
Often it takes hitting rock bottom before an addict will seek the help they need. That being said, perhaps the break up is what was needed for this to happen. I know you are hurting now, but hang in there.
That means a lot. I hope you are right, and that this provided some sort of wake up call. I'm trying to hang on, but I guess I didn't expect it to be this hard. I thought I'd hardened myself, I'm no stranger to abuse. But he is such a nice person that I didn't expect to see this side of him.
Hello my name is Sean and I just want to talk to someone about mu break up with my ex girlfriend and how I feel lonely and unwanted
Hi Sean, not sure how much I can help but am happy to try?
Thanks I feel sad and lonely after the end of my relationship and even though it was the right thing to do I can't help but to feel lonely and sad because I don't have her
Having a real bad day today, even though I ended my marriage after I found out that 2 years ago my husband had a 'sexting affair ' with my best friend (I found out 8 months ago tried for 6 but seperated 8 weeks ago as I'm finding it to hard to forget and forgive) I don't know if all these feelings I'm having is because I still want him or tbh if it's because it's still raw and feeling sorry for myself and lonely? I know this sounds silly but I genuinely don't know what I want or how I feel. It's so hard 😔
My heart goes out to you dear as I'm separated as well & it is hard at times to cope & deal with all of this.
