Break up
I’m in a weird place right now, my ex of 2.5 years recently broke up with me. We were a great couple, we complimented eachother greatly and we were about to move in together. She broke it off because she felt that she could be happier with a more outgoing person. I’m outgoing when I get to know someone but she feels I am not out going enough. However, after around a week of being broken up and not contacting her I feel content with the situation meaning of she comes back I’ll be ecstatic but if she doesn’t I’ll be happy to see if another girl is right for me. Is this okay, does this mean I dint really love my ex? Is this just subconscious pride? It’s confuses me that someone so important to me right now would be so meaningless to me.
Hi! It just sounds like she just was not happy anymore. Im sure you are outgoing but not in the way she sees as outgoing plus she might not been feeling that connection. I was in a very long relationship and this person said I didnt have ambitions... turns out what I see as ambitions are not the same as my ex. It also sounded as an excuse because they fell out of love with me. Dont let someone make you feel like you are not good enough just because you see the meaning of things differently 😊

Hi--sorry that the breakup happened. That makes sense what you're saying that if she were to come back, you'd feel happy. But if she doesn't come back, you'd also feel content with moving on and trying to find a new person.
I don't think there's any kind of one "right" way to react to a breakup, and there isn't necessarily any conflict in simultaneously feeling:
- This person was really special and I loved being in a relationship with them and found it really satisfying.
- If they have moved on and aren't coming back, then I feel like I'm able to accept that outcome, I want to respect their wishes, and I feel like I can still be happy and see what my options are if that's the new reality.
Whatever you're feeling is what you're feeling. 💜 Some people do have a delayed reaction where they feel fine at first and then sadness might hit later. But if that doesn't happen, then great. 😊
