Brother's Marriage

I was told by my mum that his marriage might end up in a divorce. He has only been married for 3 years. It would've been the 4th year this summer. She apparently walked out on him on his birthday in January. Packed her things in the morning and just told him she needed space to think. My brother was leaving later that day for a one week business trip. During that time, my parents left for a cruise after Boxing Day and would be back middle of January. My brother had actually told my mum about the news of her moving out while they were on the cruise. I only found out about it 2 weeks ago. She had to ask my brother's permission first. And the idea is to keep it from my dad until everything is confirmed. Don't want him to overreact and affect his mood/blood pressure. So, we're all careful in our words around him. I talked to my brother a few days after finding out, and I offered to be there for him if needed. But it seems like he only talks to my mum about it, probably because I won't have much to say that can help his situation.

It's kind of hard for me to deal with it too though. Not being able to say anything to anyone, even afraid to mention anything about his wife in front of my dad or whenever my brother comes home with the dog. Have to act normal at work too, since I'm coworkers with a friend of his wife. Make sure I don't mention anything regarding my brother and his wife to her friend. We're suppose to act like we don't know what has happened between them~

At times, I don't even know I should ask my brother anything about his wife. I don't know how things are going or if there are chances to return to normal. Hardest part is keeping my mouth shut at home, or whenever my dad is around. Makes me wonder if he can sense that something is not right. Only my brother has been coming home for dinner and spending long weekends with the dog. Not sure what my mum tells my dad when she's not with him come to think of it, I haven't really noticed if he took of the wedding ring or not. I don't even know if he decides to come home for the weekend or even just for dinner. He doesn't tell me, my mum tells me instead if he's coming or not. Not really being included in all the chaos. I think they are also afraid it'd affect my mood and depression. But I would like to be a part of it. Know what's been happening. She's moved out for a month now.

It's hard that I can't say anything to anyone around me, especially at work. Still need to tell everyone that my brother is married, no kids but has a dog. Still addressing her as my sister-in-law in front of others. I was hoping to meet up a couple a friends from my previous job, where I can finally say something. See what they think.
