I had this breakup about 3 months ago it was not very dramatic. We faught about something and he left me over a text saying his parents won't approve of me so we can't get married so he's breaking up with me. He also said it was my fault that he's actually breaking up because I screamed at him while I told him that he was making me feel dumb and small again and again and I was the one giving most of the efforts. He told me about his parents before and I suggested he would breakup multiple times but he didn't and he made me feel like he was so serious about me and I had hope that he would somehow convince his parents for marriage. I slept with him after like 4-5 years of being with him. And now that he have broke up me I can't get this out of my head that I got physical with him and it meant nothing for him while it was very meaningful to me. I feel devastated over this little thing so much so that I can't focus on anything else. I wasted my time, efforts, feeling everything over this relationship and he left me over a text and moved on in 2 months here I am feeling like dying everyday. This thing is really impacting my daily life I'm always irritated and fight with my family but I don't want to. I want to feel happy again be free of this guilt and hurt. How do I do it?

I understand you took this far more serious then he did as far as the physical part of relationship.  the other sounded like you had some issues that were causing issues.

It sounds like he either was kidding himself that he would go against  parents or the parents excuse was an escape clause. Any breakup is painful and we can not change the past reliving and putting guilt on ourselves.  Taking it out on those around us because we are hurting.... facing things head on change what we can and let the other stuff go.

I can feel your emotions. Hurt people hurt people. You are hurt because of him but does your family deserve your hurt? Would they wanna see their child in so much ?

We can not control someone's action but we can control how to react upon it.

Everything happens for a reason and it's good that he left now than later. God knows the best and he saved you my dear.

You will find the right one for you when it's time. Take this experience as a learning but don't blame yourself for anything. You gave your all and if still that was not enough than maybe that doesn't person don't deserve it.

Try to give yourself some time and journal your thoughts.

I hope you feel better soon.
