Fallen out of love
Around 6 months ago I broke up with my gf of 4 years. We started out in highschool and went all the way to senior year of college. We even moved in with eachother in the last year. But idk the sparks stopped flying. We grew distant. And we broke up. Yet I find myself in her old office missing her. Why? Ik it was the right choice to break up yet I can’t help but think that if I tried a little harder it could have worked. This feeling of loneliness is all consuming. At one point she was my world and now we are just strangers. Why do I feel pain for something that seems right to break off?

Hi--I'm sorry you're feeling that way. 💜 It feels really understandable though. She meant a lot to you, she was in your life for 4 years through your entire college life, and the two of you lived together. So even if breaking up was the right thing to do because the relationship felt distant and unsatisfying, losing her must have been a huge change. There's a feeling of an absence from it that hasn't been filled yet with something else. And there's some thought that maybe the breakup might have been preventable if you'd been able to do certain things differently.
