How do you know the difference between no contact period and they just don’t care?
The breakup is fresh, less than a week. He broke up with me and even though he loves me I believe he scared himself by talking about our future so much. He would initiate talks about kids, marriage, and living together. Now he’s taking time to work on himself because he doesn’t think he can do so while being distracted. But how do I know if he ever loved me/still does and this is the truth? I know most relationships go through a no contact period at the beginning of a break up but I feel abandoned and like it must’ve all been a lie. If he were to reach out again how will I know it’s for the right reasons? But also what if he never does? I’m going to keep trying to pick myself up and work on myself. But I can’t lie and say I don’t hope he realizes how good we were despite the issues.
All of what you said resonates with me so much. It may be hard to imagine, but sometimes people do need time to sort out their feelings and their worries. Unfortunately we can't read people's minds or know what they are thinking. Think of the times you were together. Did you feel his love then? If you did, then it was real and take comfort in that. People also change and that simple fact may have led to him now pulling away. Try not to blame yourself for what others choose to do no matter how hard it is. Try and work on yourself, and keep the hope in your heart. The answer to your questions will come in time as to whether this is right or not. I feel your pain because I too am hoping for something from someone. 3 weeks now and no contact and its hard. But it does get better. Talk to friends and get outside as much as you can.
This resonates with my current experience also. My boyfriend pursued me, talked about an entire future, had our timeline planned and now he broke up with me for no reason but didn’t make it sound final. It has only been 2 days and it hurts so bad. I have a lot of the same questions and I know I personally do not find comfort in the idea of “the answers will come” because the waiting is so so hard. But this is a great time to also really evaluate what is best for you and if this is something you can live with in life also. I know it doesn’t help with knowing if he loves you, but it helps you know if it is worth working or not when he makes his decision.
