How to deal with a breakup

How do y’all deal with breakups? My girlfriend and I have been going through some tough times the last month. Recently she decided it was best to end things. I desperately don’t want it. But I recognize it’s not my choice. I’m not handling it well at all. I really thought I would spend my life with her. I’m spending 95% of my time at work or in bed. I can’t stop crying. I feel completely dead inside.

@bubblewheel3543 Breakups are hard. Patience, reflection and courage are needed to be able to go through it. If you loved the person deeply and were not prepared for the breakup then it will be harder for you. I can't advice you on this but if you take your time and reflect on why everything ended, what was missing, what if you deserved someone that matches with your energy better, it had to end for you to be able to open a new door. Thinking about all the positive points may lead to positive outcomes. Ups and downs are normal but when you have a positive mind, everything's going to be okay. 🫶❤️

I'm really sorry to hear about your breakup. It's okay to feel overwhelmed and upset. Remember to take care of yourself by seeking support from friends and family, engaging in self-care activities, and allowing yourself to grieve. Healing takes time, so be patient and kind to yourself as you navigate this difficult period. You're not alone, and there are people who care about you and want to support you through this.

You're not alone. My boyfriend who I thought I was going to spend the rest of my life with just broke up with me and I was not prepared for it at all. We have been having some communication issues and I brought my baggage from past relationships where I was cheated on and still have some trust issues into this relationship. I feel like I ruined such a beautiful thing, and he doesn't want to keep trying. I'm trying not to let myself fall into the guilt trap, but it's hard. And I'm really sad. All I want to do is lay in bed alone and cry. I'm not eating much. I've never been through something so difficult. We had all these plans for the future. I thought we were perfect together. But I'm trying to realize that everything happens for a reason and maybe it really wasn't meant to be. I don't have much advice here because my cup is so empty right now, but take care of yourself

It's harder because we live in the same house. I know he is hurting too, but he is the type to shove down his emotions. So he is being nice and acting like everything is OK and we are friends. I can't do that. I can't go sit down with him on the couch and just pretend like everything is normal. It hurts too much.

@bubblewheel3543 Hey man, I went through a similar situation. I had a great relationship with my ex, and a little after we hit our one year anniversary we broke up because of difficult situations. I felt horrible and thought I would never recover, and ended up just shoving aside those feelings for a while. I coped with my pain by going to the gym and doing work/sports, anything to keep me busy. Give yourself time to heal, but hold onto hope that she may come back. Don't insult her out of spite for her hurting your feelings by ending your relationship. Respect her boundaries, but find healthy ways to cope until you can confront the pain once and for all. It may take a while, it took me 11 months, so give yourself grace. Psalms 23:1-5

I honestly know how you feel, i’m going through the same thing but i’m on the 3rd month since the breakup. Honestly all the things people say like start a hobby or focus on yourself and bettering yourself didn’t work for me. I didn’t a lot of stuff but the heartbreak was still very much there. I’m not 100% healed but what has been helping is spending time with my family/friends more than usual. The company helps with the loneliness and also just time. I know people same is the best healer and it sounds useless but I’ve found that it genuinely is. It’s also helpful to remember that the post break up healing process isn’t linear, some day you feel like *** then you start to think you’re getting over it then you’re back to square one but that isn’t a bad thing, it’s all part of the process. Honestly just go through the motions and look forwards rather than backwards. Bit lengthy but ai hope it helps at least a little bit

Breakups can definitely feel like the ground has shifted from your feet leaving you in a wind of emotions. It's okay to feel every emotion you may be feeling at the moment but remember that healing isn't linear. It's important to give yourself both the space and time to process everything at your own pace. Time is going to be the biggest thing that you can do to heal and move on from this. Take breaks, try to do a new hobby, focus on you and your mental well-being and then be proud of your efforts. You got this!
