Hi everyone,
My ex-boyfriend and I broke up about a month ago and it's one of the reasons I ended up finding this forum. It was a little complicated by I'll try to summarise.
We dated for over 2 1/2 years until it became unhealthy enough that we needed to break up (he couldn't handle my depression and I wasn't in the right frame of mind to be with anyone). After seven months apart we got back together again, however over a month later I found out that he'd continued to sleep with other people, and had given me and STD. I stayed with him because I loved him, and honestly partly because I think I just liked having a boyfriend again. However I never really forgave him for everything, my depression got worse again, so about six months after that we broke up again.
It was much more mutual this time around, so we tried to remain friends, however this just didn't work. Plus I recently found out he gave me another STD so I now don't really want anything to do with him. I'm doing better than I thought I would but my depression is still pretty bad at the moment.
Sorry for the lengthy post, just needed to vent a little. Thank you to any of you that take the time to read it. I know I'll be okay, it's just difficult
I am so proud of you for sharing this! I am glad you are able to stay strong! If you can keep up your attitude of knowing you will be ok you will make it far in life!

Settled yesterday that I'm getting divorced from my soon-to-be ex-wife. I have Dissociative Identity Disorder and for the entirety of our five-year relationship I was the unstable one, some crisis always occurring and her having to pull through it with me. I was always explaining and justifying my illness, apologizing for backpedaling and hiccups. I do still love her immensely but right now need to focus on me. Of course my therapist is off on vacation for the next four weeks ![]()
I'm a 41 year old man. I have been married to my wife for just over three years now. In that time, she has become progressively more and more negative. She has steadily pulled me down with her until we're both drowning. It all started for her when we moved into our apartment. She lost her job through a falling out. She then found out that she was pregnant with our daughter.
She has steadily pushed and pushed me until I no longer have any friends or sense of self. This has become a case of misery loving company. Attempts to talk to her about this are met with shouting and crying, no resolution.
hi guys. I'm in the rut right now, trying to figure out if i want to divorce or stay with him. not trusting myself, it's like i have a blindspot, and i'm in limbo. I'm hoping that by seeing what some of you are doing might help me to clear up my mind. look forward to chatting
Hello everyone, I am new to all of this and I am at my last resort to get some insight and help in my marriage. I am at a stand still right now, my head is telling me to leave because nothing ever stays changed, however my heart is telling me to stay things will change. When is enough enough when is it time to leave? Anyone have any info to help me., please i don't know what to do anymore i am helpless and alone no one to talk to and no one to help me.
Hello @lostandconfused and welcome to our community. I am sorry to hear you are feeling helpless and with no one to talk to or help you.But you have reached out to us and we have heard you... and will talk with you. The standstill that you describe is a place that many get to in their marriages.. head saying one thing and heart another. its not easy. I think while there is any hope we pause and try to work it out. But there can be a time when we know it is over. Suggest that to talk with someone may help you feel supported and find more clarity. And there are listeners here for you.
Hi! My name is Daphne. My husband filed for divorce in November of 2014! My divorce has been going on for 9 1/2 months! He has to turn in his W2 forms and his bank account information to my lawyer! He also got another car while the divorce is still going on.
Hello. My partner just left me for another woman. I'm left with two small children and his complete silence. I keep smiling for them during the day but in the evening I can't help crying my heart out. Will this pain end?
Oh this sounds so hard for you @pinkcake. You are doing so well for your two little ones during the day and this is likely to provide some stability for them.. you are a good mom.And I understand how at night time and on your own,the reality of what has happened hits you... and the tears and pain .. naturally follow. I wonder who can support you .. another adult to be alongside you...we all need to be supported at times like this. And remember we are here for you too.
I'm new here, so I guess I'm kind of shy with this...
I am 19 years old and getting out of a relationship. A marriage. It wasn't a shotgun wedding and he wasn't involved in the military. I was just stupid and in love. Obviously it didn't work out. A lot has happened in the relationship. Even though I am a lot happier now that I learned my lesson, I am afraid of loving someone again. I definitly don't want to make the same mistakes again.
Hey all, I am 3 weeks out from being dumped. We were together for 3 1/2 years and lived together. He had been acting weird for about a week until he came home and finally told me he didn't want to do this anymore. We had been talking about marriage and everything. We had just moved into a new apartment 3 months earlier. Now I am couch surfing between friends and my Mom. He has maintained radio silence pretty much since he dumped me. It's like the last 3 years didn't even matter to him. Though I still miss him terribly, Im finally starting to feel a little bit better.
