On Surviving Breakups
Ending any relationship - platonic or romantic - is one of the most difficult things that a person can do. Oftentimes relinquishing the relationship also means letting go of a potential future with the person you're leaving. Breakups are even harder if you have unresolved feelings regarding the person. But they are survivable, even in the direst seeming circumstances.
If you need immediate support, you can connect to a listener. You can also peruse our guide on surviving breakups (https://www.7cups.com/breakup-advice/ ). This offers helpful tips for accepting and managing the emotions that come along with a breakup, and subsequently how to resolve and work through them.
You can also seek support on these forums, where you can talk to listeners like me or other members going through the same thing. I'm happy to talk to anybody about their experiences and to offer whatever support I can. :) You all deserve to be happy and healthy.
Breakups is always really hard. And i felt like you did last year. I felt lonely and desperate... Time helps a LOT. Even if we don't like to hear this.. Just give you time. Go out and do something else for you. Just think about you for a while. I believe thats something happen for a reason. And thats how i managed to go through my breakup..
i totally agree with you. some end very tragically - some not as tragic, but everythings happen for a reason and time and God can heal your hurt.
if one door closes, another open and it's always soething better!!

You can't really survive break ups their hard to get over especially when your ex commits suicide
Hi There, i actually found this site because i needed someone to talk to about a break up i am going through. It is very early stages and literally happened last night officially but we've been apart about a month and he has been trying to get me back until yesterday when he accepted that it wont work. I dumped him because of his recent gambling addiction(i dont know if thats not reason enough) and because of his temper. we have been together 5 years and lived together for 4 of those years and now i just feel alone coz he was my bestfriend and practicallymy husband. i think if i were to try and fight for the relationship even now he would agree. but my question is should i?? the gambling and temper are quite intense.. or am i being impatient.. please help clear my doubts
Can any listeners or members help me with this? I broke up with someone almost two months ago. We were together six months and I really cared about him, but he was jealous, and over protective and was starting to get to the point of mentally abusive so I left. Hekept begging me to come back and making me feel worseso I cut off all contact withhim. It was hard to do and while I know I did what was best for me, he was so emotionally fragile that I'm afraidI could have done him serious harm mentally. I'm making progress getting over him but every time I see something that makes me think of him (even if it's just something weird on TV) I have dreams about him, like what could have happened if I hadn't left. Some are very really and some are kinda crazy but they're allincredibly bothersome. I've tried sleeping pills but they can still crop up. Anyone have a suggestion how to control this? I'm to the point where I hate going to bed and I can't even fall asleep some nights.
I have just recently been broken up with..this morning, actually, by my girlfriend, because she started to have feelings for my best friend. I'm just, extrememly hurt by this, since it clearly involves a friend that had been close to me ever since 6th grade. I love this girl, and I know she loves me, but she's confused on who she wants...I want to prove to her that I'm a great person to be with, but I also don't want to be demanding...I just want her back. And I don't know what to do anymore...
I feel that I'm at a place where I've finally come to terms with my breakup. It's really for the better. I just want to say that you all can get through it. And sometimes being alone can be good =)
