She won't be there

Gf left on new years eve. We spoke on the 8th of Jan in person for the last time. I had school and finished my last semester of the physical therapy program I'm in from Jan 24-march 21st. Since then I've just been going to work for free for my clinical rotations and my last say is June 16th. After that I get paid. I graduate tmr. Last week I texted her friend and basically got told to f off. I had reached out to my ex 2x and she told me she'd let me know about meeting up to talk, a momth went by and I didn't hear back so I reached out again and she said she didn't wanna see me that she's "seeing new people". Her beatfriend then said last week "she's seeing someone new. It's new. She's happy." I just wanted the one person who was there with me through covthe, school, to see me at the end of what's been a 7yr journey. But even her bff to me "she isn't a part of your life anymore. Why do you care so much, she's been over you since her birthday in November. She isn't gonna be at your graduation, leave her alone." I didn't cheat, or hit, or etc, I just couldn't prioritize the relationship because I've been a broke college student, her psrenrs didn't have boundaries either. I finally have a car, job interviews lined up, and I graduate tmr, and in less than all it's all over. Everything's falling into place except her. Idk if it's becaue of school, but I feel like I just got broken up with yesterday, meanwhile her bff tells me it's been 5 months, she been over you."

I graduate tmr, and I'll just be thinking kf her. Idk what to do. I told my ex I needed to block her, and now we have cah other bloked everywhere after she told me "you don't know the whole story, I'm seeing new people".

@toughPapaya1551 hey. Thabk you for sharing your thoughts and experiences with us here.

Congrats on your graduation tomorrow! That's a huge accomplishment, and definitely a reason to celebrate!

I'm sorry that your girlfriend won't be with you to mark this momentous occasion. From what you describe, it sounds like you still care deeply for her, but that she has moved on. What a difficult place for you to be in! I can hear the hurt coming through your words. Her friend doesn't sound very kind or polite or encouraging, either.

It really stinks that you feel like you have all these great things within reach, so many new and exciting things to look forward to.. but not with the person that you love. It sounds like you may need to take some additional time to grieve the loss of this relationship, and all the hopes and dreams and expectations that would have gone along with it.

I wish you all the best in your job search and future career.

I hope that one day, you can find an even stronger connection with someone else who cares just as much for you, as you do for them.

@purplelady568 hello. Sorry for the late reply. Her tiend basically told me I'm just scared ill never find love again, and like....that's not what it is....I dont chase the feeling, I chase the person for who they are, but I just feel like my ex used me to feel loved and fill a void inside herself that she is now doing by "seeing someone new". I am finished with my program on June 16th and want to go give her the 200$ I owe her from the few dates we want on over the 2 yearstogether. I promised her I'd pay her back when I was ready and that she never would have to worry about splitting dates again or seeing me counting pennies metaphorically. It just kills me that she "got tired of waiting for 2 years". Like its 2 years.....for school....how are you 23 and don't know what it is to wait 2 years for something/someone. Breaks me

@toughPapaya1551 "I had reached out to my ex 2x and she told me she'd let me know about meeting up to talk" Definitely bail after this. I went to jail to show respect and she had a co-worker give out her number after this fact, but only after a year had passed. I never got that number (and also because I didn't wait), so don't do it. It's the first sign and women love to ghost these days. There's probably some reading this thinking I am really biased but I am telling you before something worse happens this is a sign to bail.
