Should I give him another chance?
So I had a date yesterday planned out with this guy who asked me out. He ended up standing me up, and then texting me today in the morning saying that he had an emergency out of his control and he wished that he could have let me know and that he was sorry. I texted him so many times yesterday and called him many times, his phone was on because it did ring.
This is not the first time being stood up by this guy. A year ago, he texted me day of at least. I don't know.
What should I do? Should I give him another chance? How hard is it to text, though, "Can't come, emergency". I had prettyfied myself so much, and got my arms and legs waxed and spent money on clothes.

Hey there, thanks for sharing your struggle with this decision with us. I'm really sorry that he stood you up like that and it wasn't even the first time he did it to you. You must've felt really let down because you went out of your way to prepare for the date yet he didn't even bother to let you know that he couldn't make it. Have you considered asking him about what the emergency was? Also, maybe consider how he tries to explain himself to you, does he seem genuinely remorseful about it and want to really make it up to you? Does he try to be understanding of what you went through? I think knowing the answers to those questions can help you decide whether or not it's a good idea to give him another chance :)
@HalliwellSister
Hey! I'm so sorry you have been stood up by this guy after spending time and money on preparing. That seems to be frustrating. How do you feel about that? And do you feel like talking with him about this point would help?
@SunFlower700
Hey. I am not too sure. He hasn't sent me any more texts since him saying he was sorry. I am growing frustrated with his constant stream of excuses.
@HalliwellSister
I understand it's a confusing situation. If I were in your shoes I would wait till I hear from him and see what would he say then decide what to do.
@SunFlower700
Yeah all I can do now is wait
@HalliwellSister
Hey
I'm so sorry that you had to go through that, you must were very frustrated and worried at that time :( Has he ever told you what kind of emergency it was? Like if it was an actual emergency, maybe he really didn't have the time or couldn't message you, but if it wasn't, then he will owe you much more than just an apology.
I understand that it will be hard to talk to him about this, but I think hearing his real thoughts about this whole event can help you decide whether you should move on or give him another chance.
Good luck!!
@colourfulBlueberry62
he hasn't told me what type of emergency. I haven't heard from him since that last text. It's really trying my patience.
@HalliwellSister
Hmmm that's honestly very weird.
I guess the only thing you can do now is to shift your focus onto other things. Forget about him for a while. I know it's hard, but continuing to attach to this will not make the situation better.
You have the right to know what kind of emergency he was under, and if he refuses to tell you, then I guess all you can do is let go. Maybe he has some kind of personal emergency that he doesn't want anyone to know about, and we should respect that. However, it isn't right for you as well to wait for him and not get informed.
Good luck <3
