Tips on How to Maneuver Living with Your Ex?
My ex broke up with me the weekend before Valentine's Day. We currently live together with a third roommate (my childhood ffriend). We signed a 12-month lease on October 26th 2019 and are stuck in it until this upcoming October. I feel like this will really damage my healing process. Some days, I feel fine and other days it's very hard to be around him. I limit our conversations to only logistics or talks about our dog, who we coparent. This feels like a divorce. We still watch tv together sometimes but I guess there are things I wonder about that I can't ask him anymore because we're no longer together. Does anyone have tips on how to handle this situation? All three of us need each other to pay rent and our names are tied to the lease.

@kiwikano I had a situation where I broke up with my ex and we were tied into a 12 month tenancy but I explained to the landlord about our break up and he was understanding and let us end it so we could break up and move out. We were some 6 months earlier than we had signed on for.
Before that, we had lived in the same flat for 12 months on a similar contract. Perhaps that helped our landlord let us cancel the second one. Though there was no clause that meant he had to.
So perhaps speaking to your landlord might allow you or him to move out.
Also, I was in another situation where I had to leave and all we did was replace me with someone else who took over my contract.
So there are ways other than the 'impossible' act of living with an ex...
