Hey @jaeram09, nice to meet you. I hear you're feeling un-appreciated by your partner and it's making you feel upset. Super valid to feel disappointed and hurt when our efforts aren't acknowledged and appreciated enough, or when it might seem like the other person is taking them for granted.

A lot of times, people even close to us don't really realize how their actions (or lack thereof) make us feel. How do you feel about talking about it with your partner?

You are deserving of feeling appreciated in the relationship and it's more than okay to ask for it. ❤

@jaeram09

i am having this issue as well ....... we had a talk he was embarrassed when i point out all the things i do for him yet he expects cartwheels or something one of the few times he does anything for me.......

it used to be something i just let go but lately is really bothering me .... i do not want a half heart thank you but would appreciate a true gesture that he does get that i have and do things for him a lot.

I'm sorry that you're hurting because your partner unappreciated your efforts.

Are these things you do because you want to, or have they requested your help? Are these things you're doing assuming it'll make them happy, but it ends up that they don't even notice? What would happen if you stopped doing all of it? Would they notice?

Sometimes, it can be that the person doesn't care as much about some things (like some people don't care whether the house is vacuumed every day or not!), but it can also be that they aren't aware how much this is hurting you (in which case, it can really help to tell them you'd like your efforts to be seen and appreciated)

Much love and peace to you!

I sorry you do not feel appreciated. It’s a terrible feeling. I wonder how much has one overlooked, sacrificed and tried to be tolerant and understanding of before they reach the point where they start to feel unappreciated. I can relate. How long have I been letting that feeling go unnoticed? I’ve been in a relationship with my significant other for over 17 years and finally out the work in and got healthy enough to see that I am not just unappreciated, I am being taken advantage of.
