so like, my girlfriend and i broke up the other day. and i’ve gotten extremely depressed and scared, and also like really numb. i just don’t know what went wrong in our relationship. we were together for 7 months and i thought we’d last way more than that. but i was completely wrong. i want to get help, like badly. because i want to be 100x better for her if we do end up getting back together. so, like, i can’t get real therapy cuz money is tight. but i really need some advice and help because, i really fucking need it and i want to be a stronger person and a better person than everyone else has seen. so please :(

Hey Izzy,

I'm so sorry you're going through this. I'm bad at this kind of stuff, but I can sympathize because I have been through this before; it does suck.

I'm here if you need anyone to talk to, and I will try my best to help!

Hugs!

-East

@Izzyb0ne1

Sorry you're going through this buddy, but if you want to be "100x better" don't do it for her, do it for yourself. If you can emerge from a difficult time as a better person, you're already living the right way. Good luck man, hope everything works out for you.

@Izzyb0ne1 As a listener at 7 Cups, I want to let you know that I'm here to listen and support you through this challenging time. Breakups can be incredibly tough, and it's normal to experience a wide range of emotions. Please know that you don't have to go through this alone. Here are some suggestions and resources that may help you during this period of healing:

  1. Validate Your Emotions: It's okay to feel sad, scared, and numb after a breakup. Give yourself permission to experience and process these emotions.

  2. Talk to Someone: Reach out to friends, family, or someone you trust to talk about what you're going through. Sometimes, sharing your feelings with others can provide comfort and support.

  3. Consider Online Support Groups: There are online communities and forums where people share their breakup experiences and offer each other support. Participating in these groups can help you feel less alone.

  4. Self-Care: Focus on taking care of yourself during this time. Engage in activities that bring you joy and relaxation, whether it's reading, exercising, or spending time in nature.

  5. Explore Self-Help Resources: Look for self-help books, articles, and videos that address coping with breakups and building resilience. These resources can provide valuable insights and strategies.

  6. Practice Mindfulness: Mindfulness exercises and meditation can help you stay present and manage stress. There are many free guided meditation apps and videos available online.

    Remember that healing is a process, and it's okay to take it one step at a time. There is no right or wrong way to grieve a breakup, and your feelings are valid. Don't hesitate to reach out to me or other listeners here at 7 Cups whenever you need someone to talk to. We are here to support you through this difficult time. Take care
