For a lot of people it really does get better, but I don't think I'm one of them.

Silence is often the best description. There are volumes in silence: the blank page, blank screen, blankness between the stars, the songs we don't know. The ones I enjoy being with are the ones who also can keep company with silence, while living life to the full, laughing, and telling good (that is, honest) stories. But when we sleep, even if with sleep with someone beside us, we each fall away from each other into another world away. It's so obvious it is hard to believe, but there it is. You know, Voyager 1 just left our solar system a year or so ago. It is the only earth-being made thing beyond the sun's gravity. It is like the mystic of old who wandered so far from all he knew that he entered desert spaces so vast he could feel nothing until he found a new feeling to be found. Perhaps that new feeling elicited a giggle from the mystic. I imagine Voyager I like a giggle our kind created and cast into the wide spaces of Silence. It is so small, that giggle, but it IS exisiting in the space that does not speak. I believe in that silence and that giggle, such a strange and wondous pair.
