Hello !

Sometimes it happens to say things that we regret to have pronounced a while later..did it ever happen to you?

* What's one thing that you regretted to have said later on?

* Do you think that things would have been different if you'd refrained to say it?

Here we can share about it!

Hello!

What a very wonderful question to ask! While there are some things that I wish that I have not said over my lifetime. I have found that there are more things that I wish I would have said instead. When I was younger, fear kept me from speaking up for myself at times. I hope that everyone will find their voice. Thank you for such a thought provoking question!

"I'm fine with anything." "If you want to"

Maybe I shouldn't have said anything to my drunk boyfriend at the time.... I tried bringing it up but he blocked me and broke up with me over text.....

It may be a hard one, but saying "I love you" too early when i wast ready yet, to not hurt the person i was with. I just should have been honest and told him i need more time. I also find most things i regret are not saying anything about what i needed.

@welcomehome

Hi @welcomehome!

You are having a good reflection on that, becoming aware at a point is important for our wellbeing and to let things work in the right way.

Good thing never to lose track with our needs,

best wishes!

@tluper6491

Hey @tluper, it happens to make mistakes. Sometimes they are also half responsability, so ya...do not put yourself down if it makes sense. I can not guess what happened nor what it is about, but I would say that blaming on you everything will not help it.

Our mistakes can always be a life lesson, we can learn from them too. See if focusing on that can help you, maybe there is some work you can do on yourself?

Maybe there is some awarness you can assume that will help you see that it was not all because of you?

...... take care.

there's nothing really that popped into my mind because I always think what's past is past.

But I guess there was certain times when I told my mom that I don't need her opinion, because I know how to deal with things, while the fact is her opinion is very helpful for me.

I used to say alot of harsh things to this one girl and since I used to get bullied I thought I'd bully her ...she used to have alot of problems at home .... I was all alone and so was she.... I wished I would have treated her with kindness and respected her the way I would have wanted to be respected and it gets worse... I regret this so much... I eventually found some friends... We would bully her and laugh when she used to cry ... I wish I could go up to her and tell her that I'm sorry. Even though it's been 5 years I'm so sorry.

"It wasn't your fault" and "I forgive you", many many times... to my ex... That narcisistic relationship helped a lot in damaging my mental health at the time.

I regret confiding too much in certain people because they never understood me and always ended up making me feel worse. The worst part is that I knew even before I told them that it wouldn't turn out well, and I told them anyway instead of finding someone else to talk that I knew would appreciate what I had to say.

I told my dad that I would kill myself due to all the pressure he puts on me.

I actually meant it. And although he said he would take my words to the grave for hurting him so much, I can't say I regret it because I meant it.

Now I'm getting help. Maybe makes him feel better.

This... really hurts so just... just be kind, please?

I really regret telling my very best friend in the entire world that she was hurting me. I met her online, never truly met her face to face, but we became great friends fast. She was always there for me, to talk to me and to encourage me. She never let me down. But she was hurting and I couldn't help her. She was suicidal and I knew it. She stayed for a heck of a lot longer than she would have if she hadn't met me. She stayed for me. Until I couldn't take her pain anymore. I was a kid, I was being stupid. But I told her she was only thinking about herself whenever her suicidal thoughts made it to paper and were sent to me. I said that she couldn't leave me alone, and that talking about hurting herself hurt me so bad. I said: STOP HURTING ME.

And she did. Or she tried. She thought this would do it. She wrote me the longest letter ever, so many words, so much love. And she took too many pills and went to bed and never got up again. So yeah, that had pretty big consequences I'm going to have to live with every single day

@JayTheBird14

I used to have a friend that was my best friend in the entire world. We would get bullied together but we had each other until the one day when her family moved away to a different country.

Things got worse when she moved away and she would always vent out to me. The only problem was that I knew she was suicidal and I didn't do anything, I just talked to her. But no matter how much times I talked to her, even if I cheered her up a little, I didn't do anything.

She ended up killing herself after a while and I regretted not doing anything and I should have told someone but I didn't.

What made the problem worse for us was that we were far away and when you are talking to someone online, you don't really know how they actually feel.

But we cant control the actions of others. We might make mistakes but we are human. Everyone makes mistakes no matter how big.

You cant blame yourself for this because there is only so much you can do. I know it hurts. You have the right to be sad for your friend but never do you have the right to blame yourself for something that you couldn't control.

This might not help a lot but I hope it can help a little even if it is just a tiny bit.

You know what? This actually helped a lot. This actually helped tons! Oh goodness maybe it sounds so terrible of me but I'm so glad that someone understands. I'm really sorry you had to go through that though. I'm... quite sure I know exactly how you feel and that guilt hurts more than anything I've ever felt before.

I admire you though. You got to the part that you admitted to yourself that it wasn't your fault. And let me tell you that your friend, please let her rest in peace, really must have appreciated you for always being there for her to talk. And I really appreciate you being here in turn, talking about what you've gone through (I know it's hard to share) and making me feel better. If you were able to get where you are now, I'm willing to work on myself too. Thanks for that.

Take care heart
