Confused
Hi.. I'm new here, I just don't know who to talk to anymore.. If I tell my thoughts to my friends, they'll think I'm being crazy..
Here it goes..
I've come from a bad break up from a 9yr long relationship. Been in a couple of flings with people who really just wanted to take advantage of my kindness.
That's why I have trust issues now and my guard is way way up. I'm very careful talking to men now because I don't want to give off signals and I'm scared to receive them as well.
But then I have this boss who always teases me. He doesn't even talk to me directly-- like, he talks about me to someone, even though I'm there as well. I respond whenever he does that, but he'll ignore me and respond through another person. Don't get me wrong, we're fine when we're working, but it's just different when we're not. Recently, we had a celebration for him and I was tasked to prepare the surprise. Everyone said that I did the effort for it. He didn't thank me directly, he didn't even look me in the eye. When I passed by him, I felt his fingers touch my cheek-- kinda like when you plant a kiss on someone's cheek using your fingers (do you get it?? I can't explain it well too). I made a joke about it, 'cause his fingers were cold, but it was just a passing comment and we didn't talk after that as well. So it's been bothering me. Well, everything he does bothers me.. like, why can't he just approach me like the rest of our colleagues?

I totally agree. This is very confusing. I would've felt the same thing.
The problem is if you decide to talk to him about this, it will make things awkward between you two. If you don't talk to him, it will confuse you more and more especially if he keeps doing what he's doing. The question is "Do you like the guy?" Your confusion depends on answering that question. If you do like him, then I guess you would want to know and get over with it. If you don't like him, then just let it go and ask him to stop doing these things because they bother you. I'm just brainstorming with you and didn't mean to confuse you more :)
If it were me, I would be very uncomfortable in this situation because he is a boss and not merely a coworker. If you had a coworker with who you could confide in that you could discuss this matter with, perhaps that will be helpful to you π. If your boss
Thanks for your responses guys!
He isn't bad outside work though, we talk casually and we're able to joke around with each other. But I just feel this awkward air between us π I'm a type of person who greets everyone at work, he does too, but when we're the only ones left in the staff room, we get quiet and awkward, no eye contact and stuff...hahaha Maybe our colleagues' teasing are catching up to us. They're always asking me why I don't give him a chance, he takes it silently tho.. idk what he's thinking. Maybe he just finds me easy to delegate stuff at work too π I don't 'like' him in a romantic way, just to be clear. I guess the problem is with me and interacting with men my age. Talking to the rest of the age groups is fine with me hahaha.
