Daily Introspection
Thought for the day : We all do mistakes. Let that not be the reason we give up on someone we love.
Hey , I'm new in here . Of course not to the site but yes to the Relationship support. I think there is a need to cross check ourselves, because its how we respond to adverse conditions, complaints , cheats, hurt , breakups and rejections. Well , we all know our partners better than anyone else..... right ? And because we fell in love , we chose to live with them , forever , till the end and why would we choose a wrong one ? Then why do we just flick them off because of something they just did , or we just saw , or maybe just a misunderstanding?
Well , I'll bring in a new question (a choosing question for which you'll choose and another for which you'll answer why/ why not), daily for self introspection.... Somethings that would really help you know the difference between right and wrong when you think about answering it . I hope I'll get an active and true participation . So here's for today .....
Q.1. How do I treat my partner when he/she does something wrong ? Is that the same way I would like to be treated ?
a) I thrash them to hell , as the work was expected to be done smoothly , but then eventually forget and get back to normal
b) I dont react to the situation as he/she are to correct and pay for what they did.
c) I help them realize the mistake at a good note , and help them correct it .
d) I do not speak much , but throughout the day/ week I sometimes sneer about the things they did wrong.
I'll wait for all your answers ...... No one's judging you .... BE TRUE <3
Do visit for the next question tomorrow .... :)
I dont have a partner yet but yeah in the future when i may have one i would stay silent if the mistake hurt me or i would help her if the mistake is something not between us
@tranquilForever68
Would you like to be treated in the same way , why ?
@ececho Well yeah. If the mistake ive made is something that would hurt me too, i would want my partner to comfort me and stand by my side. and if its something that would hurt my partner her silence will help me understand it. But i think it will be better if we speak about what really the mistake is, or i may be misguided for something which is really not a mistake.
hmmmm...this took a lot of thought.
the relationship I have in mind is with my mostimportant family member - my aunt.
I would have to say that I do a combonation of things:
- Sometimes, if she is being open to listening - i gentley tell her that what she said hurt me and she was wrong but add that I know she was not being intentional ( thisis how I want to be treated by her).
but....
- I also have to admit , out of frustration and anger and hurt ( not the way i want to be treated) i will trash her with words :(
so - I vascilate between kindess and cruelty.
I think cruelty because I know I can act out on my hurt disguised as anger because she is safe and will not leave me -
but this is horrible to do bc i should HONOR the fact that sheis safe and will not leave me.
I also notice that I bend the way I talk to her by the way she talks to me. If she is frustrated and upset with me - she keeps it in and blows up over nothing.....then my reaction is not a kind one nor compassionite.
when the truth is - my reactions to her should have nothing to do with how she treated me , but rather, because only I have control over the way I act and how I feel, i should be treating her with kindness and love - no matter how she is with me.
because she is a valued family member, because i need to control MY tone and style of communication and bc i need to treat all people, especially the ones I love, with thhe respect and love I have for them and would like back.
This exercise was an eye opener because it made me realize i am NOT treating her as i want to be treated all of the time at all.
And i am going under a false assumption that she can somehow control my actions or make me feel something...and in reality, only I have control over that.
Great question!
Really made me re- think my actions and how I want to be expressing love for er at all times - not just when she has done something nice for me.
@blissedNblessed
I'm glad it helped you introspect . Be back tomorrow for the next introspectry question.
" When you get in the path of realization and correct it , you're strong. "
Proud of you .
@ececho
c) I help them realize the mistake at a good note , and help them correct it .
@Mellietronx
and you would like to be treated the same way .right ?
@ececho
Cool post. B or C for me, depending on my mood. I usually withdraw if I'm not happy but if I can be bothered and I'm in a good mood, I'll try to help them see their mistake.
@SilentSerenityy
thats great , how bout you being treated when you go wrong somewhere ? Wanna be treated in the same way ?
@ececho
If I dish it out, I can't complain if someone treats me the same way, though C would be best, I'm not sure if I could take their advice constructively if I'm angry/upset at the time.
