Discussion : What is your toxic trait?
hello my lovely community! happy sunday, very glad to see you here today
Often, we tend to discuss red flags in others, toxic traits our partners / friends have rather than reflect on our own traits and what we are maybe doing wrong. Having a toxic trait or more does not mean being a bad person - and it is really important to be honest with yourself here in order to improve.
this question requires lots of self-awareness and being able to view your flaws - it is definitely a hard thing to do and scary to admit our own flaws, but no one is judging you. we all have toxic traits. i have too.
so i would like to ask you to sit down for a moment and ask yourself,
what is your most toxic trait you can admit to?

I over analyze a lot of things.

i have that problem too. I usually refrain from saying the things I see out loud because according to everyone I know I'm 'super negative' and I guess I kinda am. I look at people and within seconds I catalogue almost everything about them and the things they do like ticks or habits and the way they speak. It helps to know a lot about people but a lot of times I just come off as wierd.

I'm a total killjoy. I hate going out and doing fun things with other people, even though I'm suuuper lonely. I feel like the only activities I could ever truly enjoy are the activities I can do alone. It's as if there are only 3 activities on the planet that I can safely enjoy, and I do not like to endanger that joy.
I'm always super friendly and happy and open towards people, but when they ask me to spend time with them I feel attacked.
I might have some interpersonal issues there.
I feel as if I don't trust other people very well.
I don't trust people so I don't tell them things about myself, and whenever they slip out, I lie about them later because I do not want them to think lowly of me.
The internal pressure to make sure everyone is happy even if it doesn't logically bake sense or is to my detriment
For me, its always being suspicious that a potential partner might have ulterior motives to hurt, disrespect, or treat me with dishonor. That would include ghosting during a time when I might need emotional support and trying to make a bald-faced move on me when I am obviously not comfortable with it 😱.
With social anxiety/relationship anxiety, if someone comes across as being too forward with me, or I find out that their intentions with me are not honorable (e.g. they want to do the dirty and I dont want to) ... that makes it difficult for me to have a romantic relationship in todays world, but honestly, not being in that kind of relationship in my life doesnt concern me at all. 🙂
Literally everyything. I'm a worthless failure with no redeeming qualities.
