I started talking to a friend romantically about a month ago, he persued me and I wasn't sure at first because we both recently got out of a relationship. We went to school together and I knew he liked me then but nothing ever came from it, we decided we were going to hang out and whatever happens happens, I knew logically that this was a bad idea because I knew he wasn't over his ex. Of course after a week or so they decided to work on things and now I realize how hard I started to fall for him, he made me feel special and happy in a way i haven't felt in almost 2 years, I told him I understood because he loves her and I can't be selfish enough to fight that... Now she's pushing him away again, I don't know what's going on. We don't talk so much anymore and it drives me crazy. I feel like a bother, all I want to do is talk to him. I think got friend zoned from someone who persued me and I feel like I'm just a fool for ever letting anything happen.

I know he has feelings for me too and doesn't want to hurt me, He's afraid of loosing any chance with me, but yet loves her. I don't want to be out on the back burner. I know that's no good, but I can't convince myself to let it all go, I see him all the time (mutual friend group)

Any advice??

@KoalaBearP Sounds like he needs to work that out. If he has feelings for multiple people it might be best if he step back a bit from any relationship because his relationship with his ex/not-ex is complicated.

You deserve someone who has less drama going on.

Hey there, hopefully you are doing well. There's a few things I would like to point out;

I started talking to a friend romantically about a month ago, he persued me and I wasn't sure at first because we both recently got out of a relationship. (Thats one of the reasons, but also he was turning you off with all of the pursuing he was doing, so it caused you to feel unsure) We went to school together and I knew he liked me then but nothing ever came from it, we decided we were going to hang out and whatever happens happens, I knew logically that this was a bad idea because I knew he wasn't over his ex. (Emotional healing takes time, so you got to really be careful procceeding with this because it will often go up and down) Of course after a week or so they decided to work on things and now I realize how hard I started to fall for him, (The minute he started to back away and the fear of losing him made your interest level go way up.) he made me feel special and happy in a way i haven't felt in almost 2 years, (I always get worried when people say "they made me feel special and happy", it just indicates happiness and love mostly come from an outside source, since those feelings are not felt inside without another person) I told him I understood because he loves her and I can't be selfish enough to fight that... Now she's pushing him away again, I don't know what's going on. (He is probably pursuing her too much, she is pushing him away, and then he might end up wanting to work things out with you) We don't talk so much anymore and it drives me crazy. (Anxiety is the root of desire, so being away from him is causing you to wonder and think about him.) I feel like a bother, (I don't think part has anything to do with him, I believe this is how you felt growing up and is not taking over the present)all I want to do is talk to him. I think got friend zoned from someone who persued me (If you start pursuing him then you will definetly be on the friendzone) and I feel like I'm just a fool for ever letting anything happen.

I know he has feelings for me too and doesn't want to hurt me, He's afraid of loosing any chance with me, but yet loves her. I don't want to be out on the back burner. (You shouldn't be a backup because he is not going to value you) I know that's no good, but I can't convince myself to let it all go, I see him all the time (mutual friend group) (It's understandable how you feel, its tough specially when you two used to talk often. It might take awhile to feel better, but stopping all forward movement will keep you out of the friendzone)

Any advice??
