Love is not the most important thing in the relationship..

A lot of the learning was hurtful and difficult at the time, but I'm grateful to be living in the lessons learned form my relationships:

- I do have communication problems, but that doesn't make communication impossible (and it also doesn't make everything my fault)

- Some people are bad, but some people really aren't bad

- It HURTS to hurt someone you care about. I always imagined that was true, but feeling remorse and regret in that capacity is a lesson in itself...

- Relationships require you to examine yourself, and to work on improving yourself. Paradoxically, you (your own self) should be the core reason for improving yourself, just for your own sake

- There's a lot more, but that's enough for one heart to be filled with gratitude <3

I need to have someone closer to my own age with similar interests.

it really should be your partner and you against the problem, not about who 'wins'. that's a toxic and demeaning perspective. sure the problem might be just their behaviour, or something they exculsively do, but it shouldn't feel like you're fighting against them. always be on each other's side, always communicate with love and respect, and recognize when you're slipping into being too hurt or angry to argue fairly. it's ok to say "I can't talk about this right now, we need to take a break" and revisit the issue when you've both calmed down and had time to think. also-recognize when YOURE in the wrong, and be mature about going forward.

Jealousy can cause so many problems. Especially if yu are not communcating your real feelings with your persom. Keepimg jelous feelings bottled up intensifies the oroblems.

Be not only physically and emotionally involved with the relationship. Put down the phone and really listen.

Love is a funny thing. You get attracted to someone, you get to know her more, you eventually develop feelings for her, and then, you start to like her, and then next thing you know, you are already in love with her.

You make her your world, your everything, your life… then, she leaves you. She's just gone…

How could someone you love so much disappeared just like that in your life?

One thing I learned about love and relationships is, there is no permanent thing in this world. Everything changes, feelings change, people change. YOU only have YOU. In the end, it is just yourself against the world.

My recent breakup left me empty because I gave all the love to her. Now, I don't have any love left for myself. I am broken and I am definitely falling apart. . . . . =(

And it is here, in our most fragile and vulnerable state where we turn to faith. It is through faith that I was able to get pass my divorce. It's also through faith that I was able to see that it wasn't "me against the world" though I did feel that way for a while, but instead me...embarking on a new and life changing chapter with many doors opening up for self betterment and evolution. I thank God everyday for that. You are not alone and never for one second think that it's all hopeless when one door closes. Have you considered that a particular thing leaves your life so that a better thing comes along? Or perhaps something leaves your life so that YOU yourself can learn, grow, and be a better version of yourself for someone that would eventually be in your life in the future? Just a thought.

With love, care, and prayers to you in your coming days,

Saleem

See that you are physically, emotionally, mentally, socially, and spiritually connected to your significant other. An unbreakable bond of love and care towards one another from a deep and genuine place. That's the end goal. This may not happen overnight as one would like to fantastize, but the reward is great when patient and lovingly looking forward to this natural occuring connection under God's will.
