Never ever believe it will last forever or anything of that sort. Keep your expectations and hopes low even if your guy/girl is sure that he/she would never leave you.

@beenthrougheverything I know right? This is really one thing we need to keep in mind while building any relationships. Isn't it?

Thank you for sharing your lesson with us.

@beenthrougheverything So true! Learn to never fully trust, because the same water never flows 2 times through the river. And life changes.

Trust them, but dont be stupid. Dont assume it will last forever, dont assume youll never run into problems. Dont assume that I love you lasts because it really doesnt. Dont be afraid to love but dont be dependent on them. Dont let them control you.

Remind them that they can be in your shoes and if you acted like they did they probably wouldn't like the feelings, emotions or the words.

well never ever come to any conclusion as humans are very confusing they would keep confusing you always, go with the flow and good things will come your way for sure.

@ASilentObserver

I learned that I have no control on other people's choices. I can only control my reactions to what they do. And I have to stop thinking that if they are being bad is certainly because I did something, and I deserve it. I still have to question my own behavoiur of course, but not feeling constantly guilty if someone is behaving like a jerk. They are just probably a jerk, and it's not my fault. Sorry for those bad words laugh

@admaiorasemper That's sums up my own experience very well. I'll add: don't project you values into your partner. He/she probably has other ones

Being able to admit when you're wrong and more importantly, apologising for your wrong doings.

Check in with your partner but more importantly check in with yourself! Make sure that you are happy with you, and whatever life you're living. If you are not happy, maybe that's something to look into!

@bountifulBlanket41

That sounds like considering a relationship as unequal when it should not be considered as such ...

If a relationship is not equal or as close to it as possible, then both people end up getting hurt and feel unloved. broken heart Then, it ends up being a relationship based on dominance and submission - which is a TOXIC RELATIONSHIP

Just because someone's friends with you doesn't mean that they're entitled to be in a relationship with you or kiss you. If you don't want someone to do that, tell them. It's not rude, you're entitled to refuse.

I get that this is a bit different from the others, sorry.

I have learned how to better communicate my feelings and that I am stronger than I give myself credit for.
