So a co-worker as suggested that I make a online dating profile. I am in the middle of a divorce and seeking my ex-wife have all these new connections has made her so happy and I am supporting her in every way I can. I am focusing on our two boys but I can't help but feel lonely and a bit lost. I struggle with self-love and think about find someone who xan be a friend and offer some emotion support would help and my understanding that I am worthy of some human connections. Any the same time the idea of such a thing is super scary,I ruined my marriage because I couldn't get over my feelings of self-loathing and this divorce has opened my eyes to that and I am so scared of ruining any future relationships if I can't find away to love myself. What has me most though is I am scared of damaging my relationship with my kiss
I can understand your point of view and I'm sorry your going through what you are. But instead of trying to jump into another relationship as insecure as you are about your worth I may suggest maybe working on your way of life and your self love first. And I don't mean to be presumptive in saying this but have you tried maybe talking with a therapist. Because they can help especially with mental help. I have started with a therapist because of my issues with my life as well. I'm going through a tough time myself with kids a divorce that's not been set in stone myself so I do see very well how stressful it can be.
@wolfman77 I can't even imagine what you must be feeling, with the divorce, your mental state, and two children. I hope things have gotten better for you! I personally don't suffer from self-loathing, but I do have experience dating people with varying levels of self-loathing. With that knowledge, I recommend finding or spending time with supportive friends and working on your mental health with a therapist. Depending on the severity of your mental state, I fear dating might be too soon. People who date with insecurities often treat their partners like therapist, but they're more than likely not qualified nor looking for a patient. It might end up making your self-loathing worse. I think building your connections with your friends and two children until your mental health improves is a great option. But please, do what you feel is right! Hope this helps <3
@wolfman77- Have you considered counseling for yourself to address those issues? Once you have dealt with self loathing etc, then you will be in a better place to get involved with another partner. Best of luck to you.
@wolfman77 , now there are many different portals for dating
@wolfman77,
bad idea.
Give yourself time and space to heal first. That might take a long time, take any time you need.
Spend quality time with you. I spend a lot of time in nature, reading, writing, surrendering to my pain, doing absolutely nothing at all, mindfulness. It helps to connect to my true self.
Sometimes things happen. Not because you are a bad person. Sometimes we hurt, we make mistakes, not on purpose, but because we were desperate, trying to act out of love, not knowing how, ending up fighting with ourselves. Grab this moment to reflect on you, to become more you. To find better ways to truly speak your heart.
