So the guy (43), I (F 38) have been dating since November doesnt clean as frequently as I do. His apartment (while not filthy) is definitely not up to my standard of clean. He recently asked me to help him clean, while he would have been ok paying to have it cleaned, he said he would rather pay me half of what he was quoted to have my assistance in cleaning. Honestly, I would help him for free. I spend a few days there a week and usually when I'm there he makes sure I'm comfortable, cooks for me, serves me, cleans up (sometimes I'll do the dishes, and I clean up after myself and make the bed etc.) and doesn't really ask me to do anything. Would you be ok helping him clean under these circumstances? I just don't want to be doing too much too soon.

@brightLion87 if you volunteered to help him clean, it would've been okay. But the fact that hes asked you and then on top saying he would pay you for it sounds like hes mixing up some roles of a girlfriend and a hired help - not necessarily out of disrespect or lack of love, just likely from not knowing how to go about his works. I personally wouldnt like it and the fact that it made you uncomfortable and are thinking about it shows something is not right there..... but in the end you know best what its like.
