How to get over jealousy
My girlfriend, still follows and sometimes associates with former hookups or flings. Some of them she’s told me about and some of them she hasn’t (in terms of her hooking up with them). I brought up how it made me uncomfortable, and she said that they were friends at the end of the day, she’d support them and though stuff happened, I don’t need to worry. That being said she doesn’t go out of her way to talk to them and they still go out to the same places and she sees them but doesn’t talk to them. We don’t live together or really live super close…it still makes me very uncomfortable because she for example really pays attention and likes all of their stories and posts on Instagram. I only assume that some of these guys she has hooked up with because of the ones I know she had and she does exactly that.
how do I get over this?
she is WITH you .... that is her choice.... you not anyone else.
do you not have any past? is there anyone you would take over her?
I ask these because i think many who are jealous of past are not secure in themselves ...... i look at people whom never are jealous and seemed OK with things that would bother me........
i SAW a level of being confident that made them seem like a person ........that anyone would be crazy to even look in another direction.
I agree to me having an extensive past as well and I guess I’m wondering if it’s normal to be somewhat weird about it? Cause she doesn’t like me talking to my ex so I’m just curious how to respond to it
I wouldn’t necessarily call that jealousy. If you’ve told her it makes you feel uncomfortable and she is gas lighting your feelings then it is normal to feel a certain way about the situation continuing. Maybe just try to politely remind her how she feels about you talking to your ex & it will be easier for her to understand where you are coming from. She should be able to respect your feelings and not feel the need to interact with those people online. It may be just a “like” but it does give some sort of hurt to heart to see it, understandably.
