I gave my boyfriend the silent treatment
During Thanksgiving week,my boyfriend did some things that I didn't like.
- He flaked out on me
- He told me that he wanted to fool around with another friend right in front of me
I told him that I needed space and that his behavior was unacceptable and blocked his number. In the mean time, I figured if he was really interested, he would come over and knock on my door. One week later, which was last night, he finally came over and wanted to spend time with me. Honestly, we have a great time together.
@Summershy good for you, I guess that's a good thing you can work things out. Something similar happened with my ex, we went back and forth a lot of times and he tried to reconcile but this time he hasn't. I think it's over between us.
But I wish you good luck with everything and hope it works out for you
It really worked because I figured that the ball would be in his court and I knew there we a good chance that he would come knock on my door when he had time.
@Summershy
Yes OK - but in that week, was he ‘fooling around’ with the ‘friend’…?
I think there’s still an issue staring you right in the face and if you ignore it, it might become a ’mistake’ or ‘a moment of weakness’. Although if he’s blatantly telling you to your face that he’s interested in exploring other people/options he’s not even being that subtle about it.
@Summershy
Hey, I am so glad you could see things for the way they are! This skill does not come so easily to all.
You voiced your concern and raised your boundaries! Good for you for doing that!
I am happy you stood your ground and glad your boyfriend had the much needed realization.
Hope it all goes well from here :)
