Overreacting
Lately I haven’t been feeling cared for by my boyfriend. I currently am dealing with some jaw pain that has resulted in me not being able to eat anything but soft foods and I am in quite some pain.
I am not asking for someone to wait on me hand and foot, I am an adult I can take care of myself. But I would appreciate if he showed some concern. After me telling me what was going on he hasn’t not once asked how I am or how I am feeling. He tried to make a steak for dinner and when I said “no I cannot eat that” he said oh but proceeded to make it anyways (never asking if I had something to eat). I even tried to make a doctors appointment but was unsuccessful and his concern was that our coffee maker was not working. He hadn’t shown one ounce of concern in the past few days.
Am I overreacting?

No you are not overreacting ....
It is not too much for a SO to inquire about how you are throughout your issue...... if pain is increasing or subsiding etc .......to keep track of what someone cannot eat and have options available. help if they can to find you medical care.
Some people who are not good at dealing with an ill person or an injured person tend to act like normal wishing whatever just passes .... while they may not be comfortable in role of caretaker they should make an effort or ask what you need or want them to do.
@forcefulSea7026 Hi, I'm Celine :) You are definitely not overreacting. If someone truly cared for you, they would be concerned about you while you're in this state. Think about how you would feel if the roles were reversed. Would you be concerned about him? Most likely, right? The fact that he isn't affected at all and doesn't care for you using words or actions is an issue. You can think about how he's acted towards you before and compare it to this for some context as to why he's acting like this, but he should not be treating you this way.
