starting to think love isn’t real anymore

I got out of an abusive relationship 3 months ago. I started talking to a new guy who seemed to be absolutely perfect. We had all the same interests & talk all day constantly. We even fell asleep on facetime together. Yesterday he barely messaged me after 2 weeks of us talking this way. Today he has not responded to me texts, & left me on delivered for 12 hours on snap. What the actual fuck. Who can do that to a person? I want to think that he has some sort of reason for not messaging me, but I think I just got down right ghosted. Someone help me. Any thoughts?

I mean, unexpected things can happen. Not responding for 12 hours doesn't really mean anything. Especially when it's someone you've known for 2 weeks. Calm down, try to think about something else and see how things go. And again... 2 weeks is a very short time. It may feel like you're close or you know him well... but you don't really. Try to take things slow.

Also, 3 months since coming out of an abusive relationship isn't very long either. Perhaps you need more time to heal from that.

hey @TacoBellEnthusiast221144 I understand your concern. I'm sorry to hear that it bothers you. The idea of not knowing what exactly make people stop contacting us surely makes us feel anxious.

Sounds as if most of your contact was through app or text perhaps his phone has an issue or they are in a bad service area..

I think of many times when i did not get response from spouse and once had a fight about it but as i was discussing my being upset his phone dinged and my text although shown as delivered on my end it was in limbo and hit his phone 12 hours later.

Have you heard back from him yet? I don’t know why he would spend two weeks spent in constant communication. He could’ve had an emergency, his phone broke or something or no service like others said. Given you’ve only known each other two weeks I imagine you don’t have but one means of contacting each other so say something happened to his phone he doesn’t probably have your number memorized to call you from another phone and tell you something happened

Just wait it out, if not move on. In the mean time if you say you went through trauma. I would recommend going to a trauma specialist for therapy. Maybe you can understand yourself and your trauma so that you don't attract people in your life that would give you more trauma and abuse.
