Confused
Over the past few months I have become kind of friends with someone who works in a cafe that I frequent.
When I'm there he'll be chatty and we can talk for well over an hour if the shop is quiet. We make each other laugh and smile and we have alot of the same interests. So I started talking to him online. The thing is that online he barely talks to me. I know that he might be busy and he has more of a life than I do. I messaged him recently to set things straight between us and he's not replied.
I'm scared that his talking to me in person when I'm in the cafe is a polite facade because he's in a customer facing role and it would be rude to not interact with a customer. He is often equally chatty to other customers but I am usually the only one in there on my own.
I don't know what I'm going to say to him the next time I see him. The next time I'm going to be going in there is with my ex's sister her daughter so I could be safe to assume that I will simply get happy, smiley him and we'll have a brief cordial coversation where he asks me the same questions that he asks. (How are you? Up to much etc)
I know that I am being annoying with me messaging him more than he replies but I sometimes just can't help myself. I haven't messaged him since I asked him to straighten things out which was on Saturday but it's been longer since he's talked back to me.
I'm just venting at this point. I'm getting tired of going in circles. But I can't seem to want to stop because I feel happy around him.

Hey there, hopefully you are doing well. Theres a few things I would like to point out;
When I'm there he'll be chatty and we can talk for well over an hour if the shop is quiet. We make each other laugh and smile and we have alot of the same interests. So I started talking to him online. The thing is that online he barely talks to me. (This could mean a lot of things, some people might not be great at texting, but then they are great at interacting in person) I know that he might be busy and he has more of a life than I do. I messaged him recently to set things straight between us and he's not replied. (I would be very careful with this because this friendship is barely new, however it means so much to you because you finally found someone you can project unmet needs and connect with, so this will make you come on strong. I do feel he probably felt overwhelmed with the reply)
I'm scared that his talking to me in person when I'm in the cafe is a polite facade (I could tell this has to do more with your past experiences, so this is making you believe that he is only being polite when in reality he probably just being himself) because he's in a customer facing role and it would be rude to not interact with a customer. He is often equally chatty to other customers but I am usually the only one in there on my own.
I know that I am being annoying with me messaging him more than he replies but I sometimes just can't help myself. (I would be very careful with this as well, you are starting to come on strong and it will definetly smother him. I can see you have this need to connect since you didn't receive this growing up, projection of unmet needs and anxiety which is making you over text him. This behavior is going to push him away even further) I haven't messaged him since I asked him to straighten things out which was on Saturday but it's been longer since he's talked back to me.
I'm just venting at this point. I'm getting tired of going in circles. But I can't seem to want to stop because I feel happy around him. (I understand you feel happy around him, but you have to be careful here. Its starting to sound like you are relying a lot on how he makes you feel because its been hard to find that happiness through your own, so you are attaching to receive this)
@freshLight64 Thank you. Your posts always give me a different perspective. I'm just a little stuck on what to do next, should I unsend the message? I'm going in to the cafe next week, I know he won't address the issue because we're in public.
I feel like this is the introvert version of the blind leading the blind (me and him)
