Feeling Abandoned

I have 9 best friends back in college. We used to do and talk about EVERYTHING together. As we graduated, I feel like I'm being excluded from this group. I didn't thing I hurt anyone at all. I just don't get it why everytime they meet up they never ask me out anymore? Is it because I work everyday while they don't have any job yet? I mean, at least they ASK. I'd love to hang out for an hour or two before going to work, or at weekends! I was so hurt when I saw their photos on instagram. I mean, they didn't even ask me out, I had no idea they were hanging out, and than BAM that's the photos of them in my timeline, all havin a good time. What's the harm of asking a friend to hang out? I don't always decline! We have group chat for god sake. It's possible they create another one...without me on it.

One of my friends in 'our' group let say she's M, always comes to me everytime she needs help with assignments (she's taking master's like I am). M keeps asking to 'see' my essays, send her my slides for courses, etc. Every single time. Well it was actually all they did back in undergrads. I was okay then bcs I loved them and of course I was happy to help. But now?? The way they abandoned me right after graduation, and M and some others too still ask for my help when they don't even seem to want me with them??

@tealStrings0410

my post got cut short I have no idea why lol. Bare with me just a little more pleasee

So I'm torn and hurt right now. Should I confront them? Should I ask for explanation to why they don't even bother to ask me out anymore? Do I even need to justify myself?

Or should I just cut all ties with them

Honestly, that hurts really bad. Been there, done that. I recommend politely asking/telling them:

1) how you are feeling *in a nice way (:

2) ask them to hang out more

you get the point. Just be honest, kind, and feel better (((; laughyes

hi katniss, thank you. I'd try asking them nicely though it will be awkward I guess. We never really have problems with each other, never fight or argue. I guess this will be the first heart to heart talk.

Hi teal, hope your feeling better now? How has it been since?

I know exactly what your going through teal. It's exactly what I experienced when I was growing up.

Your feelings and thoughts about this are true and realistic. None of it questions me to think different. I believe your friends are leaving you out and they are doing it when your not there. That's mean and cowardly of them to do that. Anyone who would do that is just a coward and think they can single someone out just for a laugh. That's pathetic!!!

I'm not gonna tell you what to do. You maybe have already thought about this already. I believe that you will do the right thing for yourself. We are all here to support you.

Only thing I will say is remember who you are, what you expect from someone and what you need. Think about your feelings and put yourself first. Also I don't know if you think this will help but have you thought about making new friends? Do you do anything in spare time where you can meet new people?

Again I'm not telling you what to do but there are options for you to try. As for the homework is they ask again I would politely say no and if they don't like it then it's tough. Not your problem. Your not being mean your being assertive. Maybe get help on ways to be more assertive. It's helped me and still am trying to.

Here if you wanna talk.

@teal I also agree what the other person here just said. If you feel you can talk to them about it then just tell them how you feel, don't use You, use I feel, do at a right time, be polite and don't make it about you.

Sorry its really tiping down with rain here lol.

@TreaureSeekers3

hi treasure, thanks for the kind words. It's really nice to have someone back me up for once lol. Yeah maybe I should try asking them out so we can talk about it.

Is it normal to grow apart from people who used to be so close to you? I'm still besties with friends from high school though. It's sad back in uni we'd promise to have each other in every birthday, weddings, birth of our child hahaha. I've noticed I'm not the only one who got singled out, 2 of my friends are too (they're also working). We talk about it, the 3 of us. One of them actually said that we don't need that kind of negativity in our lives. So basically she didn't take it as personaly like I did.
