This breaks my heart when people ditch us as friend
Hi:
It makes me sad when a friend decides to dump those who they once associated with by ghosting and brushing them off with excuses versus being upfront. I honestly think it is very rude and nasty of them to do things like that. One minute they loved that friend and told them everything. Then the next, that situation is a joke.
I shared this with a counselor that I don't like ghosting and the other things that go along with people drifting apart from each other. My emotions ended up getting stirred up today and I have felt angry and sad.
Hello @Summershy
I completely agree. Being ghosted is never a fun experience and is quite mean. I was ghosted by some old friends a few years ago and I still feel bad :( Have you been ghosted before? If so, I am sorry you had to go through that experience <3 You deserve better
@SnailPurple
It is very mean and as I said, it makes me feel like I was treated like a piece of trash after all the time and effort I put into a relationship.
As I wrote about in another post, a long time friend of mine chose this new and popular group some other friends and I because they are "Cool" and "Popular." I sensed that the friendship was over back in January when he blew off another friend by bailing on him for this group. What is more is that he lied about why he could not make it but my friend saw the evidence and called him out.A few weeks ago, I gave him one more chance by sending him an invitation which he ignored. My other friend called and texted him which he also ignored.
I wrote to him and wished him good luck but he didn't bother to call me or anything and tell me what's up.
@SnailPurple
As for being ghosted, yes, I have been ghosted by friends and families via phone, text, and other times in person. It's usually pretty rare though. I have found that when I am ghosted, it's usually
1. If I did something they didn't like
2. We are drifting apart.
3. If I ask them if I did anything that hurt their feelings
@Summershy
I completely agree. A couple of my friends last year just started to leave me out of things and drift away.
Since the quarantine, one of my friends that has made me so happy and has made me laugh in times I didn't want to has been starting to ignore my texts and facetimes in our group chat, and it's making me feel like a burden whenever I try to text him and my other friends in that friend group.
