A few notes about boundaries:

I've been doing some reading (and self-reminding) on setting boundaries today and wanted to share. If you set a boundary and someone reacts poorly, it doesn’t mean you’ve failed. It often means the boundary was necessary. Here is why:
- When someone is used to having unlimited access to your time, energy, or space, a boundary feels like something is being taken away from them.
- Healthy relationships rely on two distinct individuals. If someone is uncomfortable with your "no," it suggests they were overly reliant on your "yes" to regulate their own emotions or life.
- Friction is natural when gears shift. That friction is not a sign of failure; this is the heat generated by change!
Stand firm. Discomfort is not proof that you are wrong. You are teaching them how to treat the new you.
Do you agree with these points? Do you have personal experience or words of wisdom for someone who may be reading this and feeling anxious about setting their own boundaries? Please leave comments!
