Anxiety/overthinking ruining my relationship
Hello community.. I’m super nervous about posting but I am also struggling with feeling like a bother to my friends and family… so here I am bugging you, strangers.
long short of it all.. at the beginning of my relationship I was more relaxed, not so anxiety ridden, not worried about outside factors, not bogged down with everything and easy to upset and snap. My boyfriend has mentioned a couple times now that I was not like this at the beginning of our relationship.
I am dealing with a messy separation, having to leave my favourite job as it did not work for my single parent life/schedule, getting into a new relationship probably too soon after leaving my ex..
I'm finally in a healthy relationship with someone that was a best friend before we started dating.. I’ve never felt safer, he understands anxiety and always steps away to try to understand when he doesn’t get what is going on to try to find a friend that can explain it in a different way for him. But I am now spiralling out in worry what if scenarios that are not possible and no reason for me to worry about..
help?!?
@goldenSkies1957 I can relate to you with this. But he sounds like he's supportive and not turning your anxiety into an argument. It takes time to unlearn habits from past relationships. When you start to have anxiety and worry and have racing thoughts of things that have happened and/or not happening just try to breathe and occupy yourself with something else. It will always pass. I know it's easier said then done but it's not impossible. I pray everything gets better for you and your able to cope with the anxiety.
