I'm really annoyed at the fact Dad tries to be helpful  by trying go get me birthday (Or Valentine's day or whatever) card for my Mom.   I know he's trying to be helpful but by doing that he hurts my feelings.   I have said time and time again that I like being  able to buy my own gifts for the family and part of that for the occasion (Val's day, Easter, birthdays)- that is me buying cards for them.   I'm not 5-24 years old and need someone else to buy me gifts to give to someone else that so kiddish now when I have my own money.

Dad just came up a few mins ago with a birthday card in his hand and I told him (a bit rudely) that I had already gotten a b-day card for my Mom.  I know I could have told him a nicer manner but seriously, when I have to go through with that at least 3 times a year with him- that I had brought Mom a card for (occasion) and he wasted money on the same thing for me to sign?

@Disneywoman
Hi! It sounds like you’re feeling frustrated because you want to take on the responsibility of choosing and giving gifts yourself, but your dad’s well-intentioned efforts are interfering with that. It might help to have a calm conversation with him about how you feel. You could explain that you appreciate his intention to help but would prefer to handle gift-giving on your own. This way, you can share your feelings without it coming across as rude, and hopefully, he’ll understand and respect your wishes.

@aren60  the problem Is I had already gotten card and a gift for Mom's b-day like 2 weeks ago.  And Dad had come up here the day before her b-day this year to show me the b-day card he had gotten me and due to other experiences,  I really hate having to tell Dad all the time I already had that taken care of.
