Emotional attachmentšŸ™ˆ

Hello there, I feel like I need to share this and I’m hoping for some advice or helpā€¦šŸ¤—

I’m really emotionally attached to my close pastor. For me, he’s like a father figure or parent, because I don’t have a relationship with my biological father, and my relationship with my mother is also difficult. šŸ˜… He's my safe person and the person I trust the mostšŸ¤—šŸ¤ He also basically saved my life, when I wanted to end it, and he was texting with me until the strongest didn't passšŸ„ŗšŸ™ˆ

But I also really depend on him, and when I don’t have attention or contact with him, I get strong panic attacks or anxiety, and I feel a lot of pain. I have BPD and something similar to separation anxiety, like small children have… but it hurts me a lot, and I don’t know how to deal with it. I also feel like I might be a burden to him, since he doesn’t have much time for me, and sometimes it’s probably overwhelming when I ask for attention or call him many times.šŸ˜…šŸ™ˆ

If anyone has experienced something similar, I would love to know any tips or strategies that helped you.šŸ¤—šŸ«‚

@Parllie

Ā  Ā  Sometimes when we do not have a connection or a mentor type person in our life we strongly attach to someone who is that for us... we cling to them...

This can be overwhelming to that person and some move on leaving us feeling alone until we find another to fill this role.Ā  Ā In order to ease this for ourselves, sometimes finding a few more people in our lives to fill that role.Ā  Ā if you do not have others maybe your person can help you meet others to help be your mentor.Ā

Well before him, I was attached to my friend and then to him... and even when I had more friends, he's was the first and the "only" one I really needed bc I have panic attacks when I don't have contact with him šŸ™ˆ
