Feeling Forgotten

My fiancé and I are long distance and have been for a little over a year now. With his new job, he keeps busy and I just feel like he has been giving work all of his energy and not leaving any for me. Sometimes I will only hear from him once a day (like a 10 min phone call and that’s it). I try my best to text him through out the day to let him know what I’m up to, or that I miss him, or that I love him, and I don’t get much back.

He works with college women’s athletics, and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t jealous that all these other girls are getting his time and I’m not. The girls are sweet and I don’t think anything malicious is going on, but it just gets old when he talks about them, posts about them, and can’t take the time to text or call me.

We have never had issues in the past, he has been nothing but loyal and loving, so I don’t understand if it is just his job, or if I am doing something wrong. I try to be the “cool chill partner” and not bring it up so much, but this has been brought up before. I scared that when we get married I will just be reduced to “the coaches wife”.

For now, I’m just hate being alone. I’m scared to get too close to anyone here since I’ll be moving away at the end of the year, so my social life has been suffering. I would appreciate any advice.

@BMOmarie87

I know how you feel I have done many long distance as my partner traveled for work a lot.

  I think they are busy and often focused on the work. also, in the case of my partner he was confident of his feelings for me and thought I was too.  sometimes it is a lot when we try to tell them details of our day.  My partner told me if he did not think the day was interesting why would he think I would find it interesting.   It is not that they forgot you it is they feel ity is solid and not needing big reassurances.

That is a good point, thank you for that reminder. I did decide to talk to him tonight and I feel much better.
