Feeling confused and heartbroken, amazing girl I dated has feelings for ex.

So I had an amazing few dates with this girl where we really hit it off both on both an emotional and physical connection really quickly., it felt like something special was happening.
She then went to an event and met her ex who dumped her. I asked her when are we going to meet, and she sent me a voicemail message saying she is sorry but she unexpectedly met her ex at this event and think she still has feelings for him. I know it was not a long relationship but I feel pretty broken hearted and confused. I left her a voicemail back saying I understood and would like to see her again, but only if it is in her heart.
Should I contact her again? What should I do next? To make things worse she works in the same company as me, though we rarley see each other as we based in different locations. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and would appreciate your advice.

I am sorry you are going through this... did she tell you up front she was not over her ex?
while seeing an ex can bring up feelings my guess is she was not over him even before seeing him somewhere. While i can understand you had a connection your message and any further ones will let her think you are willing to be her fall back or rebound person...

She did not tell me upfront before we started dating she had an ex in the background. However she told me as soon as she saw him again.
I think your right, I replied to her voicemail but if I send her anymore messages she will just think I am some rebound she can come back to anytime. It hurts though, just don't understand, this guy dumped her and yet she is going back to him or still wants too. I cant deal with that need to move forwards
