Guilt and Hesitation over sharing anything

I don’t know why I am so hesitant to share or try and vent anonymously about my marriage. The guilt is so big and I feel like I am doing someone so inherently wrong. Maybe I’m scared people will tell me that I’m stupid to stay or that I’m overreacting? Does anyone else feel like this? Have this huge weight of fear for sharing anything outside your marriage? Had anyone gotten past it?

sharing helps. once we see that it becomes easier.  I know sharing has actually saved my relationship because the small things I dislike others have shown me it can be something different than the way I see things.

In an anonymous place like here no one is going to know who you are, and many may have had similar experiences. Do not listen to people telling you what to do like leave etc. but it can give you a different perspective.

Sometimes it’s better to vent to strangers online than it is to vent to family or friends. You don’t have to disclose full details, you can even just post about how you’re feeling (like you did now).

Everyone has their own reasons for staying in a relationship with someone. I stayed because I had kids and I was planning to leave as soon as they turned 18. I didn’t stay though, I ended up leaving this past May after being with their dad for 5 years. It wouldn’t have been fair to my kids, their dad, or myself.

Some people will understand your situation, some people won’t. Hopefully the people who read your posts will understand. 💛
