I don't know what to do about my relationship
So I've been with my boyfriend for two years and a half and about one year ago we started long distance because he had to leave.
Of course it has been a really rough year with ups and downs but we have managed, however my boyfriend has a problem that really affects me and I cannot fix, he insults me by calling me a *** or stupid. It's not even when we fight, he just says it very casually.
I've told him multiple times and given him multiple ultimatums because this is really not okay with me, he has no right to call me all those things.
About a week ago he did it again after he swore me it would be the last time and I just collapsed, he cried and I was about to break up with him but since I love him qnd I know he does too, I just couldn't do it.
Since then I've been feeling like ***, I don't know if I made the right decision and he started therapy because he knew that if he didn't I would leave him. So, even though he is trying I just don't know if I should stay, therapy is a long process and this just has been going for too long.
I love him with all my heart but I'm just so tired and don't know if I believe that he will truly change.
Any advice?
@affableTiger3935 hi there. i can see that you feel very hurt by how your partner is treating you, and i am glad to hear that he is going to therapy. on the other hand, i can understand how the situation is making you feel right now :( as much as advice may help, it is best for you to make the choice on how to handle the situation, as you are the one who knows the situation best and can best make this decision

I think if it was in heat of arguments it would be something he can work on to change but if it is in an everyday casual thing ... it has become habit and i am not sure if he becomes aware he can consistently stop this.
i never take an item said in fights as what they truly feel day to day but i think i would be concerned as you are. Loving someone does not exempt people to do things like this.
