I feel like my relationship is broken 💔

Hi everyone, I’m 22 years old and I’ve been in a relationship for 1 year and 8 months. Lately, I feel like things are falling apart. Every time we argue, we never solve anything — it just feels like a cycle that doesn’t end.

A few months after we started dating, he lied to me. One time, after an argument, he went to his mom’s place for her birthday. The next day I wanted to fix things, so I prepared dinner hoping he’d come after work. But he didn’t reply to my messages until hours later. When I went to see him, I found out he had been drinking and told me a girl offered him a drink and he accepted. That really broke my trust, because I was giving everything.

After that, I started noticing more small lies and I changed. I started being disrespectful, even verbally and physically aggressive. He would just stay quiet, but eventually he got tired and wanted to break up three months ago. I didn’t want to, and I apologized for how I treated him.

Now it feels like there’s too much pride on both sides. When we argue, we both say hurtful things and never reach a solution. I love him, but it feels like the relationship is broken.

I don’t know what to do anymore. Should I keep trying, or let go?

It's up to you both if you want to continue the relationship but work and effort needs to come from both sides.

Both of you have to put in the effort and time.

There needs to be communication, respect and honesty.

He cannot make you feel mistrustful or unwanted.

But and no judgement, you cannot physically or verbally abuse anyone, for any reasons whatsoever.

There's no justification.

If this is to work, it needs to be healthy, happy and focused on working on both of yourselves, so you can both bring the best into the relationship 💜💕

Wishing you both the best 🥰

You should let go because who lies once will keep lying over and over and you definitely deserve a more peaceful life away from doubts.

You seem to be aware that the fights are not resolving anything.

It is tiring to just go round and round and be in same place.   If you want to fix it ask yourself why?  if you both have strong feelings then working on your communication is a must.   Things can work once you have worked on communication.

it was after me and partner found ways to say even the hard things we could get along better.   I find people start with small lies........ when we do not feel we can communicate without it causing a problem we never seem to get that lies only made it worse.     If you learn to communicate even if relationship ends it is a valuable skill.
