I have really strong feelings for a close friend and idk what to do

I have really strong feelings for a close friend of mine and sometimes feels like the universe is messing with me sometimes because we just seem so perfect but I'm pretty sure it will never happen

I always thought we had really good chemistry and part of me is skeptical that it's just in my head but then other people assume we're dating or say we should date so I know it isn't just me.

And then these moments happen between us that almost feel like sitcom romance writing and it's just frustrating.

Part of me thinks I should talk to her about it but part of me is paranoid about it ruining our relationship so idk.

I'd love to chat about this and get some advice/input. Thank you

@pinkWatermelon3893 It wouldn't hurt to let your feelings towards her be known. It's better than the alternative of holding them back for the rest of your life or finding out later down the road she felt the same. If she doesn't feel the same way towards you atleast you can move on looking for a romantic interest somewhere else. Just make sure you go about it in a way that you don't pressure her and make your intentions well-known that you value her as a friend above all else. This is a slippery slope to go down, but i think it'd be worth it. I did this with my best friend and it didn't end well, but every situation is different. Goodluck either way, im curious to see more opinions.

@pinkWatermelon3893 We're on a break, or i'm delusional. Either way it's better for me to find someone else that feels the same towards me as i do them. (She requested that we separate for a little bit) The relationship thing didn't work out and i think we're just taking the time away from eachother so we can start fresh as friends again later down the road. We haven't talked in 6 months because the ending was a little rocky, but i know she's busy with life right now and i don't want to bother her. I think it might be best for her to return on her own than for me to try and bring her back, but i'm not sure. We were close friends in our teens that reunited a couple of years ago and we thought we could make things work. (maybe 7 years of contact/16 years of knowing eachother) I think some of what pulled us apart was the amount of burdens/trauma she carries around with her now than when we were younger. I thought i could be the answer to all her problems, but in the end i wasn't enough. She admitted she had a crush on me back then but i was too afraid to say anything. I wish i would of spoke up, maybe things would of been different. I still think of her as my best friend and I'll always accept her back into my life. Right now i'm just trying to move on, with or without her i need to live my life. Forgive and forget.

You should talk. Even if you it doesn’t go the way you wanted to, you’ll regret never saying anything. And you don’t have to let it ruin your friendship
