Im really bad at relationships
I think I’m starting to realize that I’m really bad at relationships. I’ve only had two boyfriends. When I was dating them, I thought I was in love with them so I would say it but I realize now, I wasn’t. I don’t think I’ve ever been in love. But also I don’t know if I’ve been in love. Like how do you know that? How does that feel? I’m super bad with being honest about my feelings to. When I like someone I don’t say anything out of fear of rejection. When someone likes me I kinda just go with it even if I don’t like them that way.
I’m trying to be better and be a better person but being honest with people when I know it’ll hurt them is really hard so I avoid it. How do other people handle that kinda thing?

You are not alone I think the reason many have issues with relationships.
Some say "i love you" thinking they should by now or their partner said it and expects it in return.
They may say a few times and really think to themselves "Do I Love them?" they ask others how it is suppose to feel. What it feels like to me will not be same for another person. The descriptions in books and movies are reasons people convince themselves.... they feel butterflies and such.
If for no other reason this is why a person should be totally aware and know themselves so they know how they feel and are strong enough to be honest about how they feel to themselves and others.
Being Honest in the end is kind .......................instead of pretending and only hurt them in long run.

Don't you think it might be much too early to call it a failure? I believe relationships is something you learn. Nobody is granted the knowledge how it all should look like. And it can be different with every different person.
I think we learn and start to recognize many shades of love and relationships through our entire lives.
And when it is you and another person, and just a thin line between the two of you, it is very difficult to not cross it. And it is you or the other person to be hurt. And when it hurts it not necessarily means someone is bad, and someone else was killed. It is just a signal that we might have done the wrong turn or have to improve something.
I think being not hurt in relationships and not hurting someone takes a lot of practice, often by trying and making many mistakes.
But, yes, I agree that someone saying he likes you is not enough for a relationship. It must go both ways. It takes two.
@drzombienoodles Rip it off like a Band-Aid, the moments we procrastinate are moments we either pro-long others/ our own suffering. i believe i would just want someone to just do it and tell me instead of leading me on. trust me you'll know when you do indeed fall in love. it can be incredibly painful. breaking it off before getting too invested.
