I'm so heartbroken

My heart hurts so bad inside right now I can't even figure out anything to do.

I want to stop thinking of him, I want to not be bothered how nonchalant he projects himself....I thought we were working together during a 'break' but he said that's what he needed to get over me. But I'm still here...hurt and still in love.

I need to get over him, but how and when will this pain be gone? My person is always my everything, I'm starting from zero again, and doing things alone, again. I have to find my happiness again, but how do you find it with emotions that shoot pain from your heart directly to your eyes making them well up?

I'm just so hurt and I'm trying to find strength to move forward....but how?

@goldenBranch8894 hello Bra nch, I'm sorry to learn that you're going through a tough time right now with a difficult break up. They're never easy, when our minds are a maelstrom of thoughts and our emotions only serve to inflict more pain in us, as you've described. There isn't a timeline for getting over someone, but there are ways to make things easier. You've mentioned that the other person always becomes your everything; this places an inordinate amount of pressure on them and on you. I once heard "it's nice to have someone in your life, but they don't have to be your life" and I've never forgotten that. What are you doing to recalibrate and bring the focus back to you and your other relationships in life, Branch? What interim activities and goals are you planning to help fill this vacuum? I've linked below to the self help guide on breakups and also to another link that looks at getting over someone in more detail. Please be compassionate with yourself as you navigate through this Branch, sending you my best wishes.
