What good does it do listening to a lie or knowing the truth

...See more I have all these opportunities to Look through his phone. It sticks in my mind, but I know nothing good will come of it. I'm uncomfortable if I don't but hurts when do. It doesn't stop any thing - he still does whatever he wants and presses me for invading his privacy after dating and living with each other for a few months now. He always has an excuse when asked and a lie when being questioned. The only good that comes of looking is I know the truth but if don't know and listen to what I know are 90% lies it's like what does that change? Either way the burden lays on me and even when I know the truth I haven't changed the outcome. Idk what to do or how to feel.

...See more What do I do when I need more physical touch / affection (sexually is not necessarily what I'm asking for a the it would be nice). A touch when walking by, after I make breakfast and clean, a hug from behind while I wash the dishes, a simple "thank you" and maybe even a small compliment 💔 He's so preoccupied with his phone and privacy of his phone while I live here in his house being a housewife (by choice) but only as a girlfriend or maybe I'm just the main girl he keeps at his home....I don't want to take it too far. Just I want more from him, a loving touch a gesture - I don't need gifts, I need something personal.l from him. He seems incapable of giving it or won't allow himself because he's an 'alpha' and I believe if he does those things then he gives up his control. That's my opinion but I've been in this for 6 months now.... I can't talk to him he rolls his eyes or treats the conversation as if I'm too needy - it become ls a hassle for him ultimately is my takeaway. I can be with him because I'm a strong woman who has chosen my role here but this area is beginning to affect me. I'm feeling really sad and almost as if I'm missing out on love.

Someone who has the time to offer thoughts as I work through my 'things' while choosing to stay in this relationship

...See more I am looking for some objective, human perspective on a relationship crossroads. I tried using an AI to help me map out the logic of my situation, and I would love to get real opinions on the conflict. **The Situation:** My partner recently stated that he feels stressed managing his privacy (like passwords and videos) because he worries it causes tension between us. He mentioned he cannot be in a relationship where there is a lack of trust, and left it up to me to decide whether to continue the relationship and join him on his next venture. **The Dilemma:** I find myself conflicted between two paths: 1. Staying in this partnership to focus on building long-term financial stability and a shared future, despite the current friction. 2. Leaving the relationship to seek a connection built on foundational trust, even if it means entering the unknown. Initially, we discussed whether this was entirely due to my own background, as my previous long-term relationships involved dishonesty and made me hyper-vigilant. However, there is a second factor: My current partner has an established history of dishonesty, which has been confirmed by his own family and past behavior. While he promises he has changed, it makes it difficult to distinguish between my past experiences and the current reality. I want to make a logical decision moving forward. How should I approach evaluating a relationship where a partner asks for total trust, but has a documented history of being unreliable? I would appreciate any practical reasoning or perspectives on this.

...See more My heart hurts so bad inside right now I can't even figure out anything to do. I want to stop thinking of him, I want to not be bothered how nonchalant he projects himself....I thought we were working together during a 'break' but he said that's what he needed to get over me. But I'm still here...hurt and still in love. I need to get over him, but how and when will this pain be gone? My person is always my everything, I'm starting from zero again, and doing things alone, again. I have to find my happiness again, but how do you find it with emotions that shoot pain from your heart directly to your eyes making them well up? I'm just so hurt and I'm trying to find strength to move forward....but how?

Taking a Break

...See more My boyfriend and I are taking a break but I'm doing a lot of self-healing going to therapy and putting in a lot of the work. He has admit he hasn't started doing anything on his end yet for us, because he's busy with x, y & z... I give him the benefit of the doubt. We've been doing good for 2 weeks since the initial break and me moving out. It really just hurts my heart how he can be so invested but a moment that it's not convenient for him, or maybe it's too much for him to bear that he snaps and is so fast and willing to let go. Telling me maybe that's the thing I finally needed to get over you. This is his perception, we have all the tools to make it better and I've been putting in so much work for myself, but a goal of mine is to get back together but it's not what I'm striving for. But if it can come with my becoming a happier and healthier person it would be amazing. But he's not making any progress, and this first argument since our break. He's so quick to say mean things. I'm healthier than I was and I don't take them all the way to heart but it still really hurts my feelings. I know won't no one can force anyone to do something. I'm not a fool and I'm not going to try, but I want to support him and I want him to grow and learn that he doesn't have to just shut it off and say mean things. He can invest just a little bit of effort and try to understand instead of react. I just got reservations for us this evening to a comedy show and dinner he and I were discussing. He didn't say anything about not going anymore but how do I make a healthy reconnection? I need some support right now on all of this.

Lectured once again and told again that I have a problem

...See more I recently got my first DUI. I use to drink very heavily in my 20's and it did altered my life path...I see and admit that. I feel wise and mature enough at this point in my life to know I messed up and it was never an active choice for this to happen (after my 20's). I feel like because I have such a bad track record in a sense of drinking, my mom and stepdad still see me as who I was and not that I made a terrible mistake. I got this DUI and I didn't even remember driving. Although I used to drink to an extreme I wouldn't blackout. I at least would have the capacity to half decent qdecisions on not to play with fate. But on this hateful night, at 31, I blacked out and still chose to drive home, needless to say I don't remember. That has never ever happened before*** I had just broken up with the love of my life and I made a bad choice to drink until I felt better and to leave a place of business to go pick up my dog from my ex's house. No one was injured and there was no significant damage but any way you've cut it I'm in the wrong and I know that. I have been back in therapy and attending virtual AA meetings since it happened. Of course I'm worried about the legal ramifications but I hired an attorney to take care of those things for me. I pray they are able to reduce whatever happens. But I can't hire someone to fix my heartache and I'm just trying to make myself better. My problem with drinking is because I casually drink there's a hard time knowing when to stop if I'm not sloppy drunk. After attending enough therapy, I understand my alcoholic father and his side of the family has normalized drinking in my eyes from a very early age. And my mother and her side of the family is normalized explosive rage and anger. When will the world know that I have really grown and that I am trying with all my might to become better. Drinking as much as I did and driving was obviously the worst decision I could have made. But because of who I used to be. There's no way people believe me that I'm doing better, everyone thinks I'm sick and that I still have the problem that I'm not choosing to face. That's the most frustrating part... Idk what the point of this post was but I really feel that I had to share.
