I want to seek warmth and comfort from someone else..

Me and my partner had a pretty big fight, and neither of us were able to be there for each other at our darkest times. But now we're in the process of trying to repair the disconnection but I still feel very lonely. I wanted them to be heard first as they need that in order to be there for me. And it may have taken some processing but I finally understood their perspective. But after listening to them and holding myself accountable, it feels I am unable to express my feelings and thoughts to them. It feels like I al prioritizing how they feel before I say anything about how I feel. Which then makes me feel lonely because during our disagreement, the only one who I really was trying to seek comfort and solace from was my partner but they were very unresponsive. So I sit here craving warmth because I still have yet to receive any after what I had gone through during the argument.

Am I being selfish? Ami being inconsiderate? I can't understand this feeling really. But I am feeling desperate.

@drmthwsn

     Until you feel heard or understood not blamed you will feel lonely in that relationship. You need to state your feelings and how you see things not just understand their point of view and feelings and adjust that is NOT a relationship.

 If you are thinking about warmth and comfort from someone else that is a clear sign you may no longer want to be in this.   I think some stay hoping your partner will change or hear you or respect your feelings and be there for you.

Only you know how long you are willing to put up with being lonely and unheard.
