Mom says I was arguging when she's was the one aruging

So our oven decided to "die" today by acting up.   Mom, dad and I were trying to figure out when we got this stove and replaced a previous stove.

Mom thought after supper that we might have gotten it when Dad and Luna had remodeled the kitchen in 2007.

When I tried to point out I think I was using the older stove/oven combo in Feb-June of 2008 for a Gr. 12 Foods class.   We kept going around an around in a circle,  that Mom somehow forgot I had one last year of high school when I turned 17.    She kept saying  "When you turned 17 there was no more school."    I kept telling her  :I didn't take a "Foods Class" in Gr. 11!! There wasn't any elective Food Class in Gr. 11!!!  I know what's nickname the Parenting class was one I took in Winter 2007.

Then she got really mad about this so called argument.  And said "its unneeded argument"  when I said I wasn't arguing she claimed I was.   She's the one who was aruging not me because she somehow thought I was in Gr. 12,  in Winter 2007 when   I was in Gr. 11 in Winter 2007.

My peers and I didn't have our prom until June 2008 how could that have happened if we had graduated in 2007?

@Disneywoman

You remembered and that's enough for you 💙

It's important to choose your battles for your own peace of mind.

I hope that you are having a better day 🩷

that sounds frustrating. It sounds like the conversation was not useful for any of you. Either way, the stove is old and broken, whether it was in 2007 or 2008. I hope she's able to replace it soon.

@Remina *2010   It might help if I could remember the baked potato incident clearly in that memory since it happened in 2007 and  Luna was trimming her eldest dog  infront of the oven she just put baked potatoes in.     So if i could remember that more clearly it might incident wether we still had the old stove or the current one.   Oh and Mom thinks that the oven needs just a tempure control changed,  and not have to spend $1,900 on a new stove only  less then that

2010, would mean the thing is 16 years old. I would see if your mom could have a repairman identify the issue with the stove/oven, because she's right, if it is just a part, that is a lot cheaper than a new stove.

@Remina  my parents are cheapsteak so we don't want to hire someone to just come out here to do that.   When Dad's has experience in carpentry/electrical/plumbing work.   My dead Paterneal grandfather (d.1999)when Dad was a child  had a monopoly of building houses in the town Dad grew up in in Ontario.    And Dad would help him a lot as a teenager.

Well if your dad has the skill, I don't blame them for not wanting to hire someone, these laborers charge a lot these days for assessment and fixing.  I hope that it works out, a working stove/oven is a must unless there are other appliances

@Remina  not anything that can reheat a bunch of Chinese leftovers at once.  Only a mircowave and toaster oven.   We do have a Air fryer but we don't want to touch it unless my sister shows up because she the only one with experience with an air fryer.
