My long distance relationship is tough
My partner and i have been together for about 4 years now and so far ive been nothing happy with them in my life, its just sometimes he doesn't want to open up about anything he shuts down and im left wondering how i can help him and salvage the time we have together.
Ive tried being the im always there for you type of person, and i dont want to force anything out of their mouth but its really hard when i see them struggling and all i can do most of the time is watch, i feel unhelpful, even useless at times due to it but idk
I know i cant fix everything but i just want to help make him feel atleast a little better, but it also feels like no matter how much i try nothing works
@FoxesareCool I can really feel the love and care you've for your partner. Sometimes, when someone shuts down it’s not about you or your efforts and it’s about what they’re processing internally.
It can be tough to watch someone struggle and feel like you can’t help but just being there, offering patience and understanding, speaks volumes.
You’re not useless and your support is meaningful, even if it doesn’t feel like it’s changing things right away.
Remember, you don’t have to fix everything. Sometimes, just being a steady presence and giving them space to open up when they’re ready is the best you can do.
And don’t forget to take care of yourself too!

This is so relatable... We just started our long distance and she's having some stressful time due to work and I feel so unhelpful... I'm always there for her and I'm waiting on her but if she doesn't open im just there doing nothing hoping for the best... I hope she knows that I'm trying my hardest by giving her the space and not think I'm drifting away from her...
